tango.

Guess what!!

I went swimming today.

Okay I know it sounds very jakun-ish. But in fact if you know me then you'd know that I hate going swimming.

Because of two reasons.

1. Hate the chlorine in my hair. Now I have to go mask it if not it'll be all dry.
2. Swimsuit tan!! Now I have a slight one.

Off now. I still have 4 analysis, 1 article and the commonwealth story to work on.

getting past it.

Got back from Ipoh this afternoon. And the surprising thing is that there practically wasn't any traffic on the way there or back!

Chinese New Year this year was no different from the rest of the years.

The usual Tuan Yuan Fan on Sunday. Monday was visiting followed by dinner at Wah Chai. And then Tuesday is the party.

Every year it's the same thing. Eat, sleep, collect ang pow and help my grandmother.

But then I shouldn't be complaining.

After all if everything goes according to plan, this is probably my second last new year in Ipoh seeing as A-levels finishes next June/July and hopefully I'll be off to UK in September. So obviously then I won't be able to come back for CNY.

A funny story to tell.

Me and my mum went out to try and get marshmallows cause we were having a barbeque during the party. 7-11 didn't have so we tried another convenience store and my mum asked "Do you have any marshmallows?" and you know what the woman said?

"Mashed Milo? Sorry don't have but we do have Milo."

Hahahahahahaha. I swear I laughed so hard.

Another strange thing, all the time I was in Ipoh I couldn't help but think "I should have brought my laptop so that I can write my analysis and article." Isn't that strange? I used to love going to Ipoh as I wouldn't need to think about any work but now I can't help but think of work.

in the middle

So after passing my undang test the next step would be to go for the 6 hour amali thing.

Which I did today. And I found more interesting than the 5 hour undang one.

3 hours spent in the classroom learning about parts of the car was pretty okay. But it got kinda boring after a time as it was basically the same thing over and over again as the guy wanted to make sure we knew the parts. And I think he has something against mechanics as he kept saying that mechanics were manipulating people who only cheat money out of us.

The next 3 hours was for the practical part. Basically we learned that we have to check certain things every week and how to change a tyre. And then the nerve wrecking part came. The driving!!!

There were 3 of us in the group. Lam, this other guy and me. I went last.

It went better than expected. Like my car only stalled once. And I can do the slope part. But not very good at stopping on the yellow line.

And who said guys were better drivers!?

The other guy in my group stalled 3-4 times whereas Lam stalled a MILLION times!! Okay not really, but it was more than 10 times. Hahahaha.

So I'm pretty pleased with myself. =D

Going back to Ipoh in a couple of hours time so no updates till I get back on Wednesday.

Until then,

mixed signals.

Okay so here it goes.

Orientation party was okay. Quite fun in a way. The performances were WAY awesome. Like there are seriously so many talented people on campus. Food was okay too.

So finally the awaited moment of the day arrived.

Announcement of Student Council Election Results.

Results as follows:

President: Stephanie
Vice President: George and KJ
Secretary: Sharon
Vice Secretary: Yenn Ling
Treasurer: Abby
Vice Treasurer: Marcia!!!!!

So yeah, out of the three people in my class only one got a post. But it's okay. Cause the people who got elected will do a great job of running the student council I'm sure.

That's bout it. Not really in the mood to blog.

see the future.

Currently there is campaigning going on at TCSH.

For the student council.

If you're studying at TCSH or have friends here please vote or tell your friends to vote for:

Faiz for President
Lucas for Vice President
Janice Siew Mun Wah for Secretary
Marcia Lee Kim Kuan for Treasurer

I sincerely believe they are all very capable of doing a wonderful job thus deserving your votes.

Here's a campaign video Faiz & Lucas made. Staying true to themselves, it is quite stupid.

footprints.

Did you know that you can still drink the milk of a cow that has mad cow disease??

Read the article *HERE*.

And that not all snakes lay eggs? Like boas, anacondas and copperhead snakes give birth.

Click *HERE*.

And why would I have know all this? Because for some reason it comes up during Psychology class.

Weird right? But at least we learn more.

game of love.

I passed my undang!!!!!

With a score of 46.

Most likely going for the 6 hour thing on Sat then my L licence will be on the way. One step closer to convenience.

Other than that there's not much more to say. Just been pretty busy with everything in life.

My blog posts are getting shorter and shorter.

huge cough.

I am shocked at some of the things people are willing to do in order to be on the student council.

No more shall be said on the subject.

Chocolate Cornetto McFlurry is the best!!!

far longer than forever.

Wax on. Wax off.

Haha. Significance of that line? Most should know. If you don't I say go watch the movie Karate Kid.

Here's a video of the training part.

Apparently Jackie Chan will star in the remake of the movie.

fool of me.

I think I've bitten off a little than I can chew for this year.

4 Exams. (Ballet, Piano, Violin and Theory). Of which 2 are like the FINAL grades.

A-Levels. Totally the determining point of life. Cause I wanna get into a good uni.

MYF!! Making it a point to go EVERY week.

And I wanna join the Ed Board.

I was going to blog a little more. But I wanna finish my poem analysis and some theory.

So that's all for now.

never been hurt.

From perfect grief there need not be
Wisdom or even memory

~The Woodspurge by Dante Gabriel Rossetti

I really love that line!

Anyway, first day of the second week of college is going pretty well. We're going to have to move classrooms up to the 2nd floor tomorrow for God knows what reason. And I don't understand why we have escalators but they're not functioning??

I seem to have writer's block or something. I can't seem to do anything with my analysis!? I'm still stuck on one page for Pied Beauty and not even started on The Spirit is too Blunt and Instrument or The Woodspurge.

something's wrong.

When I was younger I used to be an avid follower of Wah Loi Toi. For those who have Astro you should know that this channel shows a lot of Cantonese series. Every night without fail me and my mother and Weng Yan would watch the 9.30 show. But as time went on I got tired of it so around Std 6 I stopped watching TV series altogether.

Even now I dont really watch TV but I do watch some shows online.

Here are a few I recommend as a MUST WATCH.

A Taiwanese one.

Er Mo Zai Shen Bian(Devil Beside You)

This is hands down the best one I've ever watched and anyone who has watched this will tell you the same. While the story may seem a bit cliched(Bad boy and good girl), it is well worth the watch.

If you want, another good one is Why Why Love. Basically the same cast but different story. The main actor in both, Mike He is so good that apparently when he shoots a sad scene, everyone on set cries too.

Another one is one that most would be following.
Gossip Girl!!

This show is VERY addictive. In my opinion, the only reason many people still watch this is for Chair!!! That's Chuck and Blair to those who don't know. They seriously have the best chemistry and the story they have is just so sad and sweet. Definitely many aww worthy moments.

So yeah, you people out there must watch these two shows.

You don't know what you're missing out.

stop beating.

So geram with the university bookshop people!!!

They've said that they would bring the Literature books but until today they didn't bring it!!!!

And apparently they don't have stock of some of the books and the Economics book I want.

The college told us to buy original books and not the photocopied ones. But how am I to buy the original ones if I can't get it anywhere.

What's more I don't know any other place that sells these books. I've checked online at MPH and Kinokuniya and called Silverfish. What am I to do?

don't waste.

I seriously hate traffic jams.

On Wednesdays I usually have violin at 7.15. Left the house at 7.

And guess what?

Took us 25 minutes to get to the front of the Tropicana Clubhouse. I mean, it's only like a 2 minute drive there and it took us 25 minutes to get there!?

So in the end didn't go for class seeing as by the time I get there my class would be over already.

skin and bones.

Finally met all my lecturers today.

They're all pretty okay I suppose. My maths lecturer is way strange. He totally gives the impression that he only likes numbers and teaching us students is going to be torture. He came into class, barely introduced himself and began teaching. So yeah, we've started the first chapter. He didn't even ask us for our names!!

Other than that I think all my other classes will be quite interesting.

The campus is FREAKING cold! Like everyone is walking around with a jacket. To quote Faez "It makes KDU look like a sauna." Haha.

laying flowers.

Okay, so I had my orientation today.

Got there like super early cause my dad drops me off before he goes to work.

Passed time till the thing started. So from 9 till 11.3o was filled with talks. Talks about how to use the computer and library and stuff. It dragged on way longer than necessary. I mean, I don't think it's that difficult to use the computers and stuff.

But it could just be due to the fact that I'm so used to it. The way their student and library websites are designed are SO similar to KDU. And you know how in KDU you can save unlimited stuff in the public drive? Well in Taylor's it's limited to 50MB.

Like seriously? 50 MB!? So little.

Oh well. After the break went to respective classes. I'm in HS3. We sort of combined with HS2 cause there are too few students. My class seems okay. Not too noisy not too quiet.

Will find out who my lecturers are tomorrow when class starts.

You know what's unfair? The SAM students have one extra day off! They start tomorrow whereas we A-Levels people started today.

P.S You have to pay for lockers over there. It's RM60 per semester. Which means RM10 per month.

i can wait forever.

Just got back from the airport.

Saw Jia Lik off.

Now the two closest people to me are off in UK.

I'LL MISS YOU JIA LIK!!

And your big eyes. Haha.

Gotta sleep now. First day of college tomorrow. Shit.

Saturday, January 03, 2009

remember remember.

One movie I quite like is V for Vendetta.

But you know the part where V introduces himself to Evey? The use of all the words starting with V confused me a little.

So I found this video where someone put subtitles in for people like me to read. It's actually quite accurate but funny.

Here's the video.

The original scene if you wanna see it.

be oblivious.

Here are a couple of 'smart' funny answers given by students during their exams.
All from *THIS* facebook group.

Q: In a Book Club For reading (novels and math only !!), there is 120 subscribers, 70 of them like to read novels , 60 of them like to read math books, if you know that 50 of them like to read novels and math, what is the number of subscribers that don't read anything ?

A: If they don't read anything, what are they doing in a book club !?

Q: A sand, salt, and water mixture is

A) Homogeneous

B)Heterogeneous

A: I put "A Beach"

Question: How far can a dog run into the woods.
Answer: Until it hits a tree.
Correct Answer: Half way, because after half, it is running "out" of the woods.

Q: What is ATP?
A: A place where red indians live. (HAHAHAHAHA.)

There are lots more but I'm lazy. So go check it out yourself.

taking you.

New Year's Eve was spent in Curve.

Got there earlier to watch Beverly Hills Chihuahua and then went for diner after that.

Hung around till 11 whereby a bunch of us went to the rooftop so that we could get a good view of the fireworks. One thing I hated about Curve is that they didn't ban the stupid foam spray. So obviously I got lots of it sprayed at me. It's so sticky and smells gross!!!

Anyway, after the fireworks we went to Burger King for food before heading back to Trixie's. Pui Yi, Melissa and me slept over. Except we didn't do any sleeping. Seeing as we reached back at 3-ish and after everyone showered it was around 4.30. And we were leaving for the airport at 6. We just spent the time talking.

Why were we going to the airport?

To send dumb dumb Trixie off. Stupid girl is leaving us to do her A-levels in UK.

So yeah, there were a bunch of us over at KLIA to see her and Aaron off.

And that's how my 2009 started. By saying goodbye.

Seeing as she reads this blog.

I"LL MISS YOU TRIXIE!!!

Now I don't have anyone with the same sense of humour to watch movies with.
