laugh it off.

Just got back from Xi An just now. The trip there was short but quite okay. Or at least better than I thought it would be considering I went with my dad who loves to lecture me.

Went on Friday and practically spent the whole day on the plane or at the airport. Left the house at 7 and only reached Xi an at 7.30. Imagine, with half an hour more I could have reached London without checking in and checking out so many times. Went there and had dinner at the best Muslim restaurant in the city. Food was quite good. And you know what? Xi An is famous for the 'Great Mosque' and 'Muslim street' but from the 30 odd people who went, none were Malay. Hahaha. So anyway spent half of the next day studying as my dad had seminars to attend.

The whole point of me going was to see the terracotta warriors which aren't that big a deal after all. It's just to say that I've seen them. Then spent another half a day following my dad while he looked for art. In the end he bought 3 paintings for a relatively cheap price. That was Sunday.

Then came back today after a whole day of traveling. Why can't MAS have a direct flight to Xi An??? So that's my trip summed up. Pictures up tomorrow.

no matter what the cost.

I swear I'm reading way too many books now a days. I never thought I would say this but there is such a thing as reading too much. I've read so much that even my dreams are filled with drama. Just last night, I had this really realistic dream and if I hadn't woken up for school, I would have cried. Never you mind what the dream was but it felt so real to me. And the thing is that I didn't even think I'd be dreaming of the people who appeared in my dream. So for the next few days while I'm in Xian, I'm not going to read any story books. I'll be studying sejarah. Or at least try to.

I can't believe Carly got eliminated from American Idol!!! I was so sure she and the two David's would make it to the top 3!!! Just because she's Irish. So wasted la....

Just an interesting piece of knowledge.

History Mystery

Have a history teacher explain this----- if they can.

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head

Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln 's secretary was named Kennedy .
Kennedy 's Secretary was named Lincoln .

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson .

Andrew Johnson , who succeeded Lincoln , was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson , who succeeded Kennedy , was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth , who assassinated Lincoln , was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy , was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named ' Ford .'
Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln ' made by 'Ford.'

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And here's the kicker...

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe , Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe .

only human.

Happy Earth Day!!

Last week, Mei Yi and some other girl gave a presentation in conjunction with Earth Day. In a move to save the earth, each class was given the choice to turn off their air conditioners for one whole day. Or at least till lunch.

While most people thought this was a good idea, there were a couple of guys who didn't. So let's just say that it didn't end up as successful as it could have been. In my class, we did manage a couple of hours till the guys complained so much. In the end we just turned the air cond back on. For me, I'm sleeping without the air cond on tonight. It may not be much but hey, at least it's something.

Save the earth people!! Cause there's only one.

suave as hell.

It feels like a gazillion things have happened since I last blogged.

On Friday it was Melissa's birthday. So a few of us, wait. Make that many of us went to Somo for dinner. Somo's this jap restaurant/pub somewhere in Mont Kiara. The food there was quite nice. So after eating, while we were waiting for the adults to finish up, we walked over to Baskin Robbins!! Love their ice-cream =). Spent some time there and when we got bored walked over to Starbucks. All the girls (Melissa, Trixie, Aleena, Jessie, Puiyi & I) went back to Melissa's place to sleepover. As usual, we slept too late. BUT, we managed to wake up for open day. Okay, so we were a bit late. But it wasn't really a big deal cause rehearsals always start late anyway.

Open day went by in a flurry. It's like all I ever did was rehearse and perform. I did have a little time to watch the IB students do their Julius Caeser which wasn't that bad. Medley went by without any problems. Or at least without any obvious mistakes. Cheer went okay. Despite the music screw up at the beginning. Even though I know a lot of people had doubts as to whether we could pull off the 4 house thing, I think our performance was something that can never be repeated. Do you know how hard it is to coordinate 4 houses?? Not easy I tell you. After everything went over to the library prefect booth to help out. Sales for the day weren't as good as I expected. But I think we made enough to have a profit.

Went home around 5 cause had to help clean up. Showered and then went over to 1U for the BB dinner. The ticket said 7 but as usual with Malaysian time the dinner only started at 7.45. And it wasn't even the real start of food yet. We still had to hear speeches and watch performances. But the food finally came and we could start eating. Food was okay and the sketch was quite entertaining. Finished the dinner around 11 and then my mum picked us up.

This morning had to wake up earlier as MYF was leading junior church. Mei Yan asked me to be liturgist so I agreed. Was quite unprepared for it and with the exception of a few mistakes everything went well. Now if only I could pronounce 'R' then it would all be better.

Totally did not get enough sleep in the past few days till I was so SLEEPY during tennis. My coach caught me yawning so many times.

So that's my past few days summed up. Sorry if the post is too wordy but am lazy to upload the pics from my camera. Going to China this Friday!!!To Xian to see the terracotta warriors. It's actually my dad's work thing but he's bringing me along as he doesn't think I'll have many more chances to go on holidays seeing as college is supposed to be really busy.

beauty in walking away.

Today the form 5's had a field trip. To the National Science Center & the Planetarium. I heard that the Planetarium was quite boring so I didn't expect much from the trip.

However, I did enjoy myself today. I guess having the right group of friends makes everything more enjoyable. Science Center was quite fun. Many little experiments that we actually understood seeing as it's related to our sciences. At that time, was wondering how the little primary kids find any interest in the stuff there. After all, how many little kids are going to be interested in the periodic table and cells?

After that we went over to the Planetarium. Where we watched a 'movie' in the most awesome 'theatre'. It's where instead of having a rectangular screen like the movies, the ceiling was a dome shape so we had to look up at the movie. It was quite cool. Then after that was the toilet bowl thing. Where they showed you how a toilet bowl in a space shuttle works. Everyone who sat there had such funny reactions since it was kinda like a vacuum that sucks you in. The black hole and anti gravity was quite fun too. Though it wasn't a real anti gravity room. It just gave you that feeling.

Went back to the place near school where all the food is. Ate lunch then it was back to school. Cheer till 6 again. I really hope this 4 house combine thing works.

So if anyone is interested, Sri KDU will be having their open day this saturday from 10-4. Come and see the work of FOUR cheer teams combining into one.

giving it up.

Just a quick update as there really isn't much for me to tell you . Class tests 2 are finally over!! But that would mean I'd actually have to start studying for Mid years. Seeing I'll be using those results or trials to apply for college. It surprises me how fast the year has gone by. I'm even missing church camp for the sake of mid years!! See what a hard working student I'm becoming.

Open day is this Saturday. Usually I'll only do cheer. But this year am going to help out with the library prefect booth. And maybe do the P&A night performances. Or at least that's what's written on the promotional flier from out school. Am also looking forward to the field trip on wednesday. Did you know that we have a National Planetarium? Well I didn't. Heard the place sucks though. But at least we'll get to have a sort of 'day off' from school.

P.S. Anyone who reads this and is going to the BB dinner thing at 1U this saturday please drop a comment on my tagbox.

second best.

Rest of twilight cast are as follows.
Billy Burke as Chalie Swan.
Sarah Clarke as Renee.
Solomon Trimble as Sam Uley.
Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black. (Do you believe that he's only a year YOUNGER than me? At this rate I'll support Jacob more than Edward in the movie.)

give us pure hearts.

After school today went over to 1U to meet up with Ji Lynn & Jason. Who have been back in M'sia for ages but who for some reason have been LAZY to go out with us KDU people. The people who went were Trixie, Richard, Leon, Joanna and I. So after meeting up we went over to TGIF for lunch.

Talked for like SUPER long. Something strange that happened is that our waiter kept eavesdropping into our conversations. Like when we were talking about diabetes, he just suddenly comes in and tells us about his mum who has diabetes and his brother. Weird right?

With lots of food in us, we proceeded to go stalking. Yes you read that right, we went to stalk our school teachers. Hahahahaha. You see, during physics extra class Ms. Hoo let slip that some of the teachers were going bowling in 1U. By the time we got there some of the teachers had already went back but still got to see some of them bowl and play pool. Mr. Lam is not bad at bowling while there was this teacher who's very good at pool. But me & Trixie have never seen him in our school before. Lepak, lepak, lepak. Then Ji Lynn sent me home.

4 more class tests to go. All the sciences. It's at times like this I wonder what possessed me to go into pure science when I don't even like science that much. Chemistry is interesting, Physics is okay but Bio is seriously the most boring subject ever. But for some reason I always score the highest in that.

In honour of the fact that I just had my Sejarah class tests yesterday,
Here's a Sejarah essay some guy at St. Francis Institution wrote. (Found on Mei Yan's blog)

Bahagian A

Setelah Agama Islam dipupuk, penganut agama Islam mengenal sistem Tenaga Nasional. "In English, they are too shy to do that stuff in the light, scared people see ma. stupid!"

Dia ini seorang askar, generallah, dunno wat penguatlah 4 get liau. Dia mahu kill all the stupid Japanese because the samurai all so lazy steal stuff. Tetapi dia ditangkap dan diberi fahaman samurai selepas dilepaskan dia tak mau balik pula kerana ada anak cantik ma. Lepas itu dia pun fang huat chai la. His people went to kill him pun tak jadi. Ini telah tersebarnya Shinta......

Funny right?

maggi-tating.

As everyone knows, yesterday was April Fool's day. Seeing as this is our last year in school, the students of Mozart and Aristotle decided to switch classes for a day. By that I mean that the students of

this class went into
this classroom and vice versa.

Some of the teacher's reactions were priceless. Confusing teachers can really be quite entertaining. But a few teachers weren't pleased but we didn't get like a big scolding or a call into the admin so everything was okay. Nonetheless it was sort of fun. If we had thought of this earlier then we would have involved more classes. Unfortunately last minute ideas can't really involve many people.

That's all for now. The sejarah textbook beckons to me....
