winter song.

Her parents tell her to go ahead. That after all it's more important to learn something useful and gain experience instead of slogging away at something she doesn't like. So she goes. Gaining much on her travels and meeting many more people than she could ever have imagined. North South East West she travels though finally ending up in the city of love.

And true to it's name, she finds love. The guy is everything she wanted yet thought was impossible to find in one person. They spend their time together experiencing the sights and sounds of the city until....

teach me.

Went to Bon Ton last night for Pui Yi's birthday.

Food was good. Company was good too =D.

BUT, thank goodness Amanda came along. If not, I would have been very 'bright'. Haha.

We're done with "A View from the Bridge" in Lit. Now there's only the analysis left to do.

Boo. I need a holiday. Truly I do.

not meant to be.

Sometimes I think that reading is actually bad for you.

Despite the whole, it'll 'broaden your knowledge' idea that people feed you, I think if I read less it'd be better.

Reading provides me the escape that I want. When I pick a good book up, the rest just fades away. And for those few hours, I wouldn't be me. I'd be a character in the book. Detective on the trail of a missing priceless painting. Vampire heroine who falls in love with the enemy. Princess in-the-making. Washerwoman struggling to make ends meet.

Whatever character it is, I'd be happy to be sucked into the fictional world. Because no matter how bad things got in the book, I'd know that at the end there would always be a happy ending for the main character.

But in reality?

Everything is uncertain. The future is always cloudy. You'd never know whether you'd make it to the next day in one piece.

I just want to know whether everything that I have to go through will be worth it in the end.

Always thought of beatboxing more of a guy's thing.

But here's an example of a girl beatboxing VERY well.

Julia Dales.

And here's one of another awesome beatboxer. Japanese guy.

couldn't resist.

Did you realize that for some strange reason, people always like 'good girls that go bad', but not 'good boys that go bad'?

Just my thoughts.

Anyways, here a video. Love it!!

lunch actually.

Yesterday during Moral Studies, Mr. William asked the class "What is love to you?"

At different stages people gave different answers. Like in primary love was more family. Then it changed when people got to secondary to something else. And finally now in college.

And as I was thinking about it. My definition of love hasn't changed for a very very long time. In fact, you could say it hasn't change at all.

So what do I think is love?

Love is when you find that one person with whom you could spend all your time with and never get bored. That you'd never run out of topics to talk about. Or even if you did, and you sat there in silence, it would be a comfortable silence. That despite keeping silent, you somehow could still connect with him.

But as many people have told me. It'd be close to impossible to find someone like that. But hey, I think it's better to have aim for the impossible instead of settling for less.

big money pocketbooks.

"I'm gonna buy a B, heh rug?"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. *Lit joke*

Doing first analysis for A View from the Bridge. After a nice two weeks with no analysis to do, it's back to the ever brain draining process.

Something that my mum told me today. She heard it in a sermon.

Men are about the target.

Women are about the process.

True no?

That guys always seem to focus on the goal. But that doesn't mean they actually know how to achieve the goal. And girls focus on the getting there but not the destination.

So which is better?

dr. evil.

And the final two are revealed.

For American Idol that is.

I haven't been following it much this year as never found the time. But the few times that I have watched it, my favourites were Allison and Kris.

Then Allison got eliminated. So there was only Kris left.

Guess what!!??

He made it to the FINALS!!!!!

Along with Adam that is.

Yay!! Will so be rooting for Kris next week. His version of Falling Slowly and Heartless are way beyond awesome.

swear your love's for me.

I admit I am a tad cynical when it comes to love.

That even in fairy tales, there is gore. And no, I do not refer to the Disney 'and they lived happily ever after' type of story. I'm talking about the original fairy tales. Where in Cinderella her evil stepmother cut of Cinderella's stepsisters' toe or heel in an attempt to get their feet to fit into the shoe that the prince had. And where in the end they get their eyes pecked out by pigeons.

Another example. Snow White. The evil queen ate the lung and liver which she believed to have belonged to Snow White. But actually it was the lung and liver of a bear whom the hunter had killed as he spared Snow White's life. Guess what? You know how in the Disney version Snow White comes alive after the prince kisses her? Well, the original version has the seven dwarfs tripping over a tree root as they're carrying the coffin. And this slight blunder causes the apple piece to dislodge itself from Snow White's throat. The evil queen ends up having to wear a pair of iron shoes that had been freshly removed from the fire and dance till she dies.

Last one. I promise. In little mermaid, around the dwelling of the witch(Ursula), is the skeletons of all the humans who've died from shipwrecks, there's even the copse of a mermaid who got caught by the polypi. And the little mermaid gave her voice away by having her tongue cut off by the witch. In the end, the little mermaid dies because the stupid prince marries someone else.

Haha. So now you know what fairy tales are really like.

Yet, despite all the cynical thoughts I might have. I am a true romantic at heart.

get up and go.

Sometimes I think falling love can be equated to falling into a black hole.

That once you're near it, there's no turning back. It's just a one way road to self destruction.

But then again, that could be the cynical part of me speaking.

i was smiling.

Hmm, you know how sometimes there are words which you don't know the exact meaning to but seem to know when to use it?

Well, the perfect example of that is the phrase 'sam pat' or '38' of you prefer.

It's like no one knows the definition for it. I even asked my parents but they don't know either.

Here's my definition of it. See whether you agree.

Definition of 'sam pat' or '38'

1. De kong mei shi zhuo. Haha, in other words nothing better to do.
2. Kepoh. Or rather, nosy.
3. Must always have the last word.
4. No shame.

So what do you think??

start a company to make misery.

Eh, if anyone can download the song 'Sweet sweet sleep' by Ian Ball, please tell me!!!!

So looking for that song but can't seem to find it.

I've just finished watching October Road and I must say it's pretty good.(Thanks Sean for lending it to me! =D).

The storyline may not seem very ground breaking but the script is well written. In my opinion that is. The conversations that the cast has is both funny yet witty at times so that keeps me happy. AND, the soundtrack is nice. Downloaded a couple of nice songs.

However, I'm so disappointed that it was not renewed for a third season. Like there just left season two at such a cliffhanger. Even the 10 minute 'finale' that they filmed to sort of close the story was not satisfactory. I mean, how many issues can you really resolve in ten minutes of screen time?? Argh....I want another season.

And you know, my semester exam is in exacly one months time.

Ah well. Off to do some drawing! Haha. For lit class that is. Ms. Anne gave us homework to draw out the first scene from "A View From The Bridge: by Arthur Miller. Despite being in the arts stream I have absolutely NO artistic talent so it's going to be quite a bit of work to getting the set nicely drawn.

october road.

Stripe day today!!!

Haha. Not on purpose though. It just so happens that there were quite a number of people wearing striped tops today.

Anyways, Lucas drove to college today. And yes, I am alive and in one piece =P.

BUT guess what happened to the parking ticket??

No prizes for guessing.

strictly business.

I was just watching the movie "He's just not that into you" and I'd have to say I quite liked the movie. Definitely the star studded cast helped but the conversations that happened in the movie seemed pretty realistic and not the usual "and they lived happily ever after" kind.

At one point Gigi(Ginnifer Goodwin) yells at Alex(Justin Long) about how she's glad that she's naive rather than be cynical about love like him. And this got me thinking. Is it really better to be naive than cynical?

Wouldn't you be subjecting yourself to more heartache and humiliation if you were naive? Or would it better to be cynical and risk the fact that you may never find true love?

What do you think?

face it.

Do you have a personality disorder??

Well here's how you can find out. =P

So yeah. Here's my results.

Disorder | Rating
Paranoid: Low
Schizoid: Low
Schizotypal: Moderate
Antisocial: Low
Borderline: Low
Histrionic: Low
Narcissistic: Moderate
Avoidant: Low
Dependent: Low
Obsessive-Compulsive: Low

Haha. Maybe I am a little Schizotypal. But Narcissistic?? Hmmmm.

And before you say anything, having a moderate rating is still okay. I do not need to see a psychologist.

so superficial.

Hands touch, eyes meet
Sudden silence, sudden heat
Hearts leap in a giddy whirl
He could be that boy
But I'm not that girl

Don't dream too far
Don't lose sight of who you are
Don't remember that rush of joy
He could be that boy
I'm not that girl

Ev'ry so often we long to steal
To the land of what-might-have-been
But that doesn't soften the ache we feel
When reality sets back in

Blithe smile, lithe limb
She who's winsome, she wins him
Gold hair with a gentle curl
That's the girl he chose
And Heaven knows
I'm not that girl

Don't wish, don't start
Wishing only wounds the heart
I wasn't born for the rose and the pearl
There's a girl I know
He loves her so
I'm not that girl.

I'm Not That Girl ~ Wicked OST
