i'm not that girl.

Today was officially the last day that I'll ever have to remember Malaysian history ever again.

LAN test went okay.

But to let you know something funny.

You know how LAN is taught in English? There's also a BM part for the exam paper.
And I tell you, I think a lot of people flipped to the BM part when they couldn't undertsand the English part seeing as we learned sejarah in BM thus everything is programmed into us in that language.

After college went to KL PAC to watch Prom the Musical.

How it compared to when it first performed at KDU?

Well, I can safely say that the storyline and dances are better.

Singing only on some parts.

Overall it was not bad. The script inproved a lot but there are still many areas in which it could have been better.

viva la vida.

Life is pretty ironic at times isn't it?

Ah well.

My group has finished partitioning the whole of Jane Eyre!!! The moment we finished it, Marcia, Lucas and I(Caroline was busy at the prize giving ceremony thing), we were like "YES!!!". Haha. All the work and effort we've put in made it feel so nice to finally finished.

And you know what that means? No analysis for a week till we start 'A View From The Bridge'. Uh huh, no lit work for an entire week. =D.

I also just read this book called "The Chocolate Run" by Dorothy Komsoon. It's quite good cause I seriously feel like I can understand the main character in the book at times.

When I get stressed out, there are only two things I would do.

1. Read a book. (Most definitely something sappy and awww-inducing.)
2. Listen to music. (As Caroline has so cleverly observed, I like emo music. It mellows me out.)

I'm not gonna recommend the million and one books or songs I read or listen to, but here is one song that is so going to generate a huge following.

In fact, tons of people out there are already huge fans of it.

Nothing new, but a mix of two really awesome songs. Though not everyone would agree to my opinion that the two songs are awesome. But hey, everyone's enitled to their own opinion.

And now I present to you,

LOVE STORY (Taylor Swift) meets VIVA LA VIDA (Coldplay)

Ah yes. Bliss. =D

that's not my name.

You know you're really a lit student when you're reading a storybook and you feel like taking up a pencil and partitioning the chapters.

I swear, that's exactly what happened to me. I was reading this book "Marshmallows for Breakfast"(which by the way is quite good), when I felt like taking up a pencil and drawing a line to show that there was a change in the chapter. Weird right. But that's what you become when you've had to partition 38 chapters of Jane Eyre.

And guess what???

I drove out alone today. =D. To fetch my brother from tennis so it was a pretty short distance. But still!! And I don't drive so slowly anymore.

love taught me to lie.

"If music be the food of love, play on." ~ Twelfth Night
"The course of true love never did run smooth." ~ A Midsummer's Night Dream
"To thine ownself be true." ~ Hamlet
"Parting is such sweet sorrow." Romeo & Juliet

All plays by William Shakespeare. So many famous quotes from him.

Went to KL Pac today to watch 5 short excerpts from the four plays mentioned above. A was quite a last minute thing cause Ms. Anne only told us about it today during class so we were just decided to go tonight.

It was not bad. Could have been better but seeing as they only had three weeks to prepare it, it was quite a good play from the actors. Don't know whether it's cause we've done Twelfth Night in class but I realized that we were all(Marcia, Caroline, Kim, Adibah, Pam and Lucas) more critical of Twelfth Night than with the other plays.

I feel like I'm addicted to plays. Wanan go for Prom the Musical next week, then Bottom Top the week after. And we'll see what comes next.

Now if only my father weren't so uptight about it.

an end to it all.

She wasn't strong, she knew that. Stress was not something she dealt with well and the results of it today was obvious. Walking into class, she felt it already in her the tiredness that came from a lack of sleep, lack of food, and most of all, lack of understanding.

There were just too many things for her to do and so little time to do them. It wasn't her fault she didn't do well in the tests, it was just a result of having too many things on her platter. And yet he chose to condemn her as if she did nothing but party the night away not giving any thoughts to her studies. She did care, she just didn't have the time or energy to do so. It took a lot out of her to keep up with appearences, no one would ever know how she really felt inside about anything or anyone. Though she may seem happy-go-lucky and whatnot, there was a lot of other feelings in her that would be kept hidden till a time she finds someone with whom she could open up to.

All the bottled up feelings, lack of sleep and food combined with the slight heat that she felt could do no more but cause her to blackout.

It was not something that had happened before. But that could also be because she had never the stress get to her. Yet she allowed it this time, she was just too tired to fight it. All she wanted to do was tell the he that he won, that it proved that she was just as stupid, untalented, weak and useless as he perceived her to be.

She truly wished that someone would let that hypocrite know that he was putting too much pressure on her.

Sorry, just needed to vent.

worth it?

Here's a video that Anthea told me to watch.

Won 'Most Popular Short Film' at the 2006 Berlinale Talent Competition.

Chicken A La Carte.

Don't you appreciate your food so much more now??

tong hua.

Just got back from watching Stage Therapy.

IT WAS AWESOME.

JASMINE, YOU WERE AWESOME!!!!

It was a good 2 hours and RM20 well spent.

There were really serious parts but there were also really funny parts. The last part, the physical theatre part was really cool. But I'm not sure whether my interpretation of it is right.

I've also found that Central Market is a pretty interesting place. Did you know you can customise your own stamps? As in put your face on a stamp. And yes, you can actually use the stamp on letters.

wash away.

Went ZORBING yesterday with the Sky Adventure club.

It was quite fun.

When we got there and saw the distance the zorb ball would roll down, we were like "It's so short!!". Little did we know how long the actual ride would be.

I tell you, it was the longest moments of my life. I swear, as we rolled down, I was wondering when the hell it would stop cause it seemed to go on FOREVER. And then after trying the zorb once, we did the wet one which is basically where they chuck water into the zorb with you so that you roll down with water all over. Very much like a washing machine. Haha.

Did I mention that Amanda kicked me on the forehead?? Haha, her leg slipped out and it was dangling as we rolled down and at one point it hit me.

After that went home showered and stuff and then headed over to Melissa's place.

Good food good company.

Could there be any better way to spend time? Nope.

gift of one liners.

Hmm, let's briefly sum up what I've learned in the past two weeks.

1. How to take the LRT during peak hours. (Yes!! I'm so much better at taking public transport now.)

2. That food around work is cheaper than in college. (Sigh.)

3. Investigating is not fun. (It's quite tiring.)

4. AIG is not the same as AIA. (Seriously, they're two different companies in two different buildings.)

5. Auditing work is tedious to say the least.

6. AML, WP, CBC, IAD. (Bet you don't know what they mean =D.)

7. Masjid India is next to Jalan Melayu. (Strange I know.)

8. BMI over 30 is FAT. But below 20 is underweight.

9. How to play hearts and minsweeper properly. (Played in the morning BEFORE work started okay.)

10. Finally, college life is more relaxed than work. (So better enjoy it while it lasts!!)

So yeah, that's basically it. Do I regret spending my entire holidays there? I would say not eventhough that means I had absolutely no rest.

But oh well, I'm sure that sacrifice will pay off sooner or later.

And now it's time to go off and enjoy the little time left.

shallow and deep.

Go to Alex Tay's blog and watch the videos he posted up.

It's seriously tear jerking.

*LINK HERE*

And tomorrow (well, technically today) is my last day of work!!!!

Then it's off for a jam packed 4 days filled with fun stuff before college starts on Tuesday.

I'll blog a little more on work some other time. Gotta hit the bed soon.

lemon tree.

Ballet exam went okay today I suppose. You can't really tell your own mistakes when you have to focus on the dance and there is no one else in the room but the examiner and the pianist to watch you.

After some relatively messy planning, ended up at Curve with Amanda, Caroline, Lucas, Faiz and Daniel.

Dinner over at Ikea where Caroline had her first ever taste of Swedish meatballs. Haha. Lots of super lame and sick jokes.

Went over to Cineleisure to watch Righteous Kill after that. Not bad, but did not live up to expectations. However, with the right people, this movie can be pretty entertaining. And you know something's wrong when you laugh at something slightly twisted and noone else laughs with you.

Nice break from work. But it's back to auditing tomorrow.

tide is high,

Sometimes you just have to forget about everything else in life and focus on the most important thing.

YOURSELF.

Yes it may sound very selfish but think about it carefully. Why should you waste your whole life making others happy if you yourself don't get a share of the happiness.

jane eyre.

First day at work.

It's okay. Nothing really much to say. The people here are really nice though.

Auditing does actually seem quite interesting. For those who don't know what auditing is, let me sum it up for you in the simplest way.

"Point out other people's weaknesses"

So yeah.

We'll see how the rest of the two weeks go.

I've also got to take public transport back everyday.

need for speed.

My Lit class has once again shrunk. By another guy. You see, we only had three guys to begin with. The Faiz decided to leave, and now Jun Kit. So we're down to one. Lucas.

So sad.
Just goes to show that only girls have the perseverence to do literature.

Anyway, went over to 1U after class to catch a movie and dinner with some classmates. Marcia, Kim, Caroline, Lucas and I watced Fast & Furious 4. Sad to say that it did not live up to expectations as it is my least favourite among all four. And yes, I have watched all four.

After some aimless walking we finally decided to have dinner at Dragon-I. Oh, Jun Kit joined along. I must say, that having dinner with this bunch is anything but silent. I swear, we made sooooo much noise and laughed like crazy.

All in all a nice way to end the day and to start the holidays. =)

Spending the two weeks interning at AIG. Sigh, what holiday??

Wednesday, April 01, 2009

son of dork.

Sometimes I wonder whether I'll make it through the year. No, I don't mean that I'm going to die. But I think I'm going to be both mentally and physically exhausted.

A-Levels is tiring. If you take Eng Lit that is. Do you know that for Jane Eyre, we have to pass up our analysis by Friday while we've only discussed it today?? And not like it's only for one chapter. It's for 4 chapters. Then on Friday we're discussing 6 chapters.

I was totally looking forward to the two week holidays. But doesn't seem much like a holiday now. Gonna go intern at AIG for two weeks.

College is by far more tiring than I even thought it would be.

But yet there are people out there who can do so much more than me.

Example. Some guy took 23 A-levels subjects. In the same year!!! And he said it was easy.

Crazy right?? And here I am struggling with four subjects.
