Jog for Hope!!!

An event organized by Taylor's College Sri Hartamas(Tree Huggers) where the funds collected will go towards Spastic Children’s Association of Selangor and Federal Territory.

So yeah, it's open to the public. GO OKAY.

Campus is way too crowded. June intake. I like it better when I knew most people walking around campus. IB is coming in next week. The KDU kid in me is being prejudiced.

day and night.

With the first day of the second semester of college starting tomorrow, it had me thinking about how much I've changed this year.

While I haven't changed drastically, I feel that I have matured a lot.

Especially with the whole public transport thing. Now so many places are more accesible cause all I have to do is ask my mum to drop me off at the LRT. It's a wonder how a little walking and the LRT can help you get to so many places. Guess Malaysian public transport isn't that bad.

And the friends I've made in college surprise me. It surprises me how close we've all gotten in this short span of time. Though I still have the KDU people i.e Trixie, Pui Yi, Melissa, Aleena, Jia Lik and Amanda. Those of us in the same class have really spent a lot of time with each other.

There really is a difference between being in a science and an arts class. I could totally feel that some how I don't belong in a science class. But being in Taylor's now, I feel that the class is filled with like minded people. Or it could just be the fact that we talk to each other so much during Lit. The one subject where we're expected to talk to each other a lot. To share RELEVANT ideas of course. Though we always digress.

I am looking forward to the end of A-levels. But just so that the workload will ease off. Not looking forward to the fact that everyone I know would end up in different places. Particularly those people who are not going to the UK.

white roses.

Updates on the last couple of days.

Had a farewell for Faiz on Thursday. He's leaving for KYUEM(Kolej Yayasan United Engineers of Malaysia) in July as most of you know. Lucas originally told him that there were only 4 of us as the others were too busy. But the actual truth was that others were laying in wait to surprise him.

Those who turned up. Jun Kit left earlier.

So yeah. It was fun. Went to mamak after dinner. Pretty fun.

We're going to miss you Faiz. College will never be the same.

Had my last day of work yesterday. I am going to sort of miss it. Different kind of people. Yet I find that they're just a slightly more grown up version of those in college. The jokes cracked are relatively the same. Highlight of the day is still lunch.

Ah well. Went to Pavillion after work to watch Transformers 2 with Caroline, Lucas, Marcia and Darren. I would say that I enjoyed the movie. But it is WAY overrated. There is no way I'm sitting through another 2.5 hours of mainly mindless action.

And then finally today I went for a treasure hunt. Along with Amanda, Kim and Caroline. Organized by MENGO. It was freaking hard. The questions were seriously difficult. The only way people could have gotten the answers is if they are seasoned treasure hunters. Guess it's time to join more!! Haha.

singing through this.

Hmmm, you know how in the previous posts I said I dislocated my toe? Well, apparently I've fractured it. And only THREE days later does the hospital call up to tell my mum. What's more, I went to the emergancy ward.

Not gonna say which hospital it is. But if it really was an emergancy, I'd probably have died.

And next time if I ever have to work in the city, I am so not driving. My dad picked me up at 6 and it took an hour to get to the LRT station which is usually only 5 minutes away. That is how bad it was. So after my mum picked up me I went with her for a dinner as taking me back would have been too time consuming. Later found out that it was Hash's farewell dinner.

Now I'm back home waiting for my hair to dry before I go to sleep. Can't wait for college to start!! Yes I know that sounds weird. But college is less tiring than work.

fictional.

Some Disney songs are more popular than others.

I'm sure you all know the songs 'A whole new world', 'Kiss the girl', 'Once upon a dream' or even 'Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo'.

But here's one song that I really like. It just reminds you that there are always people out there who don't have as much as you and that you shouldn't complain.

barriers.

So, my foot doesn't hurt so much anymore. But it is now officially twice the size of my right foot. So fat. =(

Can't believe it's only a week left to my second semester at Taylor's.

I'm lazy and tired to type anything else. That's bout it then.

i'm not a princess.

So last night was my last ever ballet concert.

Did not go as I hoped it would seeing as somewhere in the first dance, I dislocated my fourth toe. Yup, you read that right. The joint decided it would be fun to dislocate itself on the night of my last concert. So thus there's a huge bruise due to internal bleeding around that toe now. And it hurts to put weight on it.

Other than that, the concert was pretty fun. Still hasn't hit me that I don't have ballet anymore. Time to find another dance =D. Ballroom anyone?

Went out to eat at Hartamas Square after that as we(Aleena, Melissa, Pui Yi and I) were all hungry. We ordered so many things and yet still managed to finish it. Satay, Char Kuey Teow, Pizza, Rosti, Tauhu Bakar. Yummy. =)

Aleena dropped me home after that.

I also went to the hospital this morning to get my toe checked. Just in case. But everything's alright cause I pushed the toe back in place yesterday. However the doctor said it'll take a week or two for the bleeding to stop and get better. Boo.

Cool right?

No proper update till Saturday earliest. Interning sucks the energy out of me.

Monday, June 15, 2009

than be with you.

And so starts another two weeks of A-levels holidays.

Or in some cases.

Two weeks of internship.

Yes people, I'm doing another two weeks of internship. But at a different place.

Doing at an investment bank this time. Pretty interesting. And I can actually apply the stuff I learned in economics! =D

Downside is that it takes much longer to get home cause I have to take the monorail and change at KL central.

That's all. Too lazy and tired to type anything more elaborate.

Saturday, June 13, 2009

been here the whole time.

I am tired and sleepy.

So here's just a brief update.

While most A-levels students were done with their exams on Thursday, the poor Further Maths and Lit students had to come back on Friday for their last paper.

Right. I was sooooo happy after Lit ended. Had lunch at this Japanese restaurant next to the bagel place. Hung around college a little while till Caroline was done. After that it was off to Mid Valley. Watched 17 again. It was pretty good. And I must admit, Zac Efron was freaking hot when he got out of his car with the shades on. I think I have a thing for guys with cool cars and shades. Seeing as the only point in Twilight where I thought Robert Pattinson passed as a remarkably hot Edward Cullen was when he got out of the car with his shades.

Anyways. Shopped a little after that for the stuff I need for my ballet concert. And then went to Borders for a while as Caroline said "NO shopping!". Haha. You need to learn to like shopping more.

The real reason we were in Mid Valley is cause we were throwing a surprise early birthday party for Anthea. She's going off to UK for the holidays so can't celebrate with her on the actual day. Enlisted the help of her boyfriend who was pretty nice and accomadating considering he didn't know us at all.

Following pictures stolen off Pam's facebook =D.

We hid behind pillars so that Anthea wouldn't see us. And the waiters were totally laughing at us. But it was fun =P.

Everyone who came except Pam. She took the picture.

Now Lucas takes the picture. Guess who's the more experienced photographer.

Really cool photoshop like picture taken by Caroline.

After dinner went to mamak with Lucas, Daniel, Marcia and Faiz. As most should know, Faiz has left Taylor's cause his brain's too big. Seriously. Well maybe not. He got a scholarship to go to KYUEM so he's leaving us behind.

I swear I haven't laughed so much in one day so hard for such a long time.

That was yesterday. I spent today at HELP. 30-Hour Famine workshop. Yup, organizing it again this year. And once we get the okay for venue, all you Taylor-ians can start registering.

We're combining with the Subang campus and limiting places for the actualy camp itself. So if you want to go, do register as soon as possible. I'll post up details when everything's finalized.

That's about it. A busy two week holiday ahead. Another internship.

lost myself again.

I'm sure we all have the dream of entering Oxford or Cambridge. I mean, it would be so awesome to tell people that you're from Cambridge or Oxford right?

And yet you always hear of those brilliant all rounded students who don't get it.

So what is really needed to get in?

Well apparently it's being able to answer the interview questions. Mind you, they aren't always the conventional type of questions.

Some examples below. I would totally freak if I got asked those questions.

Here is a piece of bark, please talk about it. (Biological sciences, Oxford.)

Are you cool? (Philosophy, politics and economics, Oxford.)

At what point is a person "dead"? (Medicine, Cambridge.)

Put a monetary value on this teapot. (Philosophy, politics and economics, Oxford.)

Why can't you light a candle in a spaceship? (Physics, Oxford.)

big jumps.

The mundanity of life.

It's like after some time you realize that you're doing almost the same thing everyday. That at times you don't even remember whether an event took place today or yesterday or some days ago.

Ah well.

Let's introduce you to two websites that I like reading.

I usually feel better about my life after reading. At least I know that there are people out there who have the same problems. Or just sadder lives than myself.

degrees of winning.

To all Taylor-ians,

You know the After Exam Bash at 7ate9 that's suppose to happen this saturday(13 June)?

Well,

It has apparently been postponed to 27 June.

So yeah. I'm just passing on the news.

But I do encourage everyone to go.

After all, RM70 for dinner at 7ate9. SO worth it!!!

earth begins to freeze.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

yet

Out of sight, out of mind.

Physical or emotional pain?

I'd pick physical. Because no matter how bad it might get, you'd know that somehow there would be a way to stop it. That there would always be some treatment or medicine to stop the pain. And no matter how many scars the pain might leave, it would heal. Or at least you could cover it up.

But with emotional? If you suffer, you suffer alone. No one would know just how bad it hurts. You'd also never know when the pain will end or whether it will end at all. There is no doctor who can tell you to take this antibiotic or pill and the pain will leave you forever. And some scars remain.

It's like with those people who slit their wrists (not that I condone their actions). But in interviews with them, they always say that they inflict physical pain on themselves to get their mind off the emotional problems.

Exams in two days. Back to Economics it is.

not a saint.

I am thinking....

of cutting my hair short. Like above shoulder length.

Any thoughts??

AND! AND! AND!

New Moon trailer is out.

I am so on Team Jacob. Haha.

But on Team Edward when I read the books.
