I finally have my last Lit. book!!

An Inspector Calls by J. B Priestly.

I was pretty pissed at my dad for not letting me KLCC yesterday to get this book but he came back today with the book. So everything's okay. The book was actually quite hard to find. I mean, going into so many bookshops and finding that all didn't carry the book was pretty annoying. The woman at Silverfish even told my mum that if Kinokuniya didn't have the book, the only other place that would have it is in Singapore. Luckily it was available there.

And when my dad came into my room, he saw Mae Yeen's invitation and was like WHOSE party is this at Passion? Cause apparently Passion is a drinking place. But since it's in the afternoon I don't think any drinking will be going on.

YLDP is on the 5th of December and my dad wants me and my sis to go. So if anyone is going, drop a line so I won't be so sesat alone if people I know are going.

Meanie.

As all you people know, Performance & Awards Night is this friday. It feels like finals were ages ago when in truth it was only a week back. I think this is the first time that I've practically lived in school. Practice on weekdays will 5, practice on weekends from 10 to 5. I've never spent so much time in school. It had all better be worth it on friday.

I mean, can you imagine if someone screws up and the whole thing is a flop? All our effort and time would have gone to waste then.

Hopefully my parents let me go bowling with the MYF ppl on saturday night. People in church are so different from people in school. I don't know how to describe it but it's different nonetheless.

Then off to KK on monday!! What a packed week.

I feel so mean now.

Depreaciating asset.

Didn't go to school today as my ankle is swollen, I have a cold and my voice is going.
It feels so nice not to go to school. =p.

Just a little something for fun.

N.Y. Woman's Question:
What am I doing wrong?
Okay, I'm tired of beating around the bush. I'm a beautiful (spectacularly beautiful) 25 year old girl. I'm articulate and classy. I'm not from New York . I'm looking to get married to a guy who makes at least half a million a year. I know how that sounds, but keep in mind that a million a year is middle class in New York City, so I don't think I'm overreaching at all.

Are there any guys who make 500K or more on this board? Any wives? Could you send me some tips? I dated a business man who makes average around 200 - 250. But that's where I seem to hit a roadblock. 250,000 won't get me to central park west. I know a woman in my yoga class who was married to an investment banker and lives in Tribeca, and she's not as pretty as I am, nor is she a great genius. So what is she doing right? How do I get to her level?

Here are my questions specifically:

- Where do you single rich men hang out? Give me specifics- bars, restaurants, gyms
-What are you looking for in a mate? Be honest guys, you won't hurt my
feelings
-Is there an age range I should be targeting (I'm 25)?
- Why are some of the women living lavish lifestyles on the upper east side so plain? I've seen really 'plain jane' boring types who have nothing to offer married to incredibly wealthy guys. I've seen drop dead gorgeous girls in singles bars in the east village. What's the story there?
- Jobs I should look out for? Everyone knows - lawyer, investment banker, doctor. How much do those guys really make? And where do they hang out? Where do the hedge fund guys hang out?
- How you decide marriage vs. just a girlfriend? I am looking for MARRIAGE ONLY

Please hold your insults - I'm putting myself out there in an honest way. Most beautiful women are superficial; at least I'm being up front about it. I wouldn't be searching for these kind of guys if I wasn't able to match them - in looks, culture, sophistication, and keeping a nice home and hearth.

Answer from Rob Campbell:

I read your posting with great interest and have thought meaningfully about your dilemma. I offer the following analysis of your predicament. Firstly, I'm not wasting your time, I qualify as a guy who fits your bill; that is I make more than $500K per year. That said here's how I see it.
Your offer, from the prospective of a guy like me, is plain and simple a cr@ppy business deal. Here's why. Cutting through all the B.S., what you suggest is a simple trade: you bring your looks to the party and I bring my money. Fine, simple. But here's the rub, your looks will fade and my money will likely continue into perpetuity...in fact, it is very likely that my income increases but it is an absolute certainty that you won't be getting any more beautiful!

So, in economic terms you are a depreciating asset and I am an earning asset. Not only are you a depreciating asset, your depreciation accelerates! Let me explain, you're 25 now and will likely stay pretty hot for the next 5 years, but less so each year. Then the fade begins in earnest. By 35 stick a fork in you!

So in Wall Street terms, we would call you a trading position, not a buy and hold...hence the rub...marriage. It doesn't make good business sense to "buy you" (which is what you're asking) so I'd rather lease. In case you think I'm being cruel, I would say the following. If my money were to go away, so would you, so when your beauty fades I need an out. It's as simple as that. So a deal that makes sense is dating, not marriage.

Separately, I was taught early in my career about efficient markets. So, I wonder why a girl as "articulate, classy and spectacularly beautiful" as you has been unable to find your sugar daddy. I find it hard to believe that if you are as gorgeous as you say you are that the $500K hasn't found you, if not only for a tryout.

By the way, you could always find a way to make your own money and then we wouldn't need to have this difficult conversation.
With all that said, I must say you're going about it the right way. Classic "pump and dump."
I hope this is helpful, and if you want to enter into some sort of lease, let me know.

Chemistry.

Ivan & Allison routine

Love the routines.

Call me a dreamer but I hope one day I'll be able to dance like that. (Not that I'm much of a dancer).

With the amount of chemistry they have between them. *Sighs*

They're not even dating and they have so much chemistry between them.

Twin towers.

You know, I always thought the Twin Towers were designed by a Malaysian architect.
I was wrong. An Argentinian actually designed it : Cesar Pelli.

He is 81 years old this year and still designing. He was 72 when he designed the Twin Towers.

Here are pics of where he got his inspiration from.

Similar much?
Except this looks much cooler.

Baking frenzy.

Yesterday my 'dear' sister was on a baking frenzy. Over the pass few days, she has baked over 80 little cupcakes. Here's a rough outline of the process.

The batter in the mix.

Next comes the icing.
The BEFORE.
The AFTER.

It all turned out pretty okay in the end.

Had P & A night dance practice today. Was actually only in Pirates and Cats. But later MI didn't have enough ppl I think so Jia asked me to join.

No offense or anything but I predict that practice will not meet the target of finishing the dances in 3 days. This is because there are a few individuals who may not have the experience nor talent for dance. But what can one do? Some of the best dances are in Merdeka Skit. Also known as 'Laksa' group. Hahahaha.

The chocolates that I thought looked very nice but had dates in them from Pavillion. I'm not a fan of dates. Way too sweet.

  • Holes by Louis Sacher (Found it in Borders)
  • An Inspector Calls by J. B. Priestly
  • The Lion & the Jewel by Wole Soyinka (Reserved it from Silverfish)
  • Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury (Borders too!!)

Never go home.

I swear it feels like I've spent the while holidays out of the house.

Thursday was Gardens, Friday 1U, Saturday Curve, Sunday Gardens & Bangsar and today Pavillion. Whew...

Pavillion is HUGE!!!

But in some way, I prefer Gardens. Pavillion feels like KLCC 2. A place where maids and workers with day offs go to pass time. No offence to them but there were just so many people.

The Parkson there is much nicer though. Bought a dress from Carven Ong. Which in the end I only paid RM9 for. Haha. It's cause my mum was at Pavillion on Friday so she spent some money in Parkson and got RM120 worth of Parkson vouchers. And since the dress was discounted, the total price was RM 129.

Went to 'The Loaf' for lunch. Saw Trixie!! If you ever go there there is something you absoloutly have to try.

Their pudding!!

It's like caramel custard in a cup. Really nice. And you get to keep the cup.

Saw Jessie with many shopping bags while eating it.

Sheman.

She has a big mouth.
She's a bitch.
She's a flirt.
She's bimbotic.
She's stupid.
She's annoying.

Who am I talking about?
That's for me to know. And you to find out.

After so long.

For the past dunno how many years, my haircut has remained the same. One length no fringe shoulder length hair.

It has changed.

Now I have slightly above shoulder hair. With a sort of fringe.

You'll see it when you see it.

Hard to find.

Is it so hard to books in Malaysia??

I've gone to two bookshops and still haven't found my Literature books!!

So if anyone finds these books, do tell me.

  • Holes by Louis Sacher
  • An Inspector Calls by J. B. Priestly
  • The Lion & the Jewel by Wole Soyinka
  • Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

I think for these Raya holidays I'll be out everyday. =P

Thursday went to The Gardens. Friday went to 1U. Watched Resident Evil 3 and The Seeker. I swear I'm going to be afraid of crows from now on. If you've watched both those movies you'll understand what I mean. Saturday & Sunday is usually spent out of the house. Hopefully the meeting with Darren gets changed to Monday cause going out with the ballet people on Tuesday, hopefully. By ballet people I mean Jasmine, Emily, Nanapas maybe Sher Wen and Me.

Busy, busy, busy.

Shop, shop, shop.

Surprisingly I'm not really tired today.

After EST paper 1, me jialik amanda & trixie went back to my house and changed before leaving for midvalley. Normally I don't really like midvalley but really wanted to check out the new wing. Called the Gardens.

For a moment it felt like I stepped into KLCC. The layout of the place is pretty similar.
Walked around for a while before everyone started complaining of hunger. Went down to the ground floor where most of the food shops were. All the restaurants had an open kitchen concept so it's nice to know that there are no maggots in the food =p. Ate at a place called Sushi-Zen which was pretty okay for Japanese food.

Then started the walking. We walked and walked and walked. Explored almost every single shop in the Gardens I think. Everything is so expensive!! Tried on a nice white top in 'Principles' but it cost RM165. Really need to bring my mummy there one day. The Marks & Spencers that opened there is so much bigger than the one in 1U. They even had the food section. No pork pies though....Felt like I was back in London.*wishful thinking* There was a place filled with hand creams, body lotion etc. We all tried the different scents. With trixie's hand smelling like peaches & almond at the end of it. I bought an Aloe Vera hand cream while jialik bought the Aloe Vera body lotion.

I need a CREDIT CARD!!! Too many nice things that cost too much. The Guess there is nice. Had Baskin Robbins ice-cream fondue which in my opinion is better than the Haagen Daaz's one.

Stayed there till 6.30 before got picked up by my mummy for piano. Was suppose to stay for the whole of class. BUT my mother being very nice said I could skip half and go to Souled out where trixie, melissa were. Azuri, jessie & charles went too. So after piano, around 8, walked to Souled out. Ate, drank, laughed, talked. Then melissa sent me home.

P.S If anyone want to be nice enough to lend me a copy of their 'Eclipse' it would be very much appreciated. Wanted to buy it but it was only out in hard cover. Since the other two books are in paperback didn't want to spoil the series. Boohoo.

Done and failed.

IT'S OVER!!!!

It's all over now. Well not officially seeing as my final paper is EST paper 1 tomorrow. But as everyone knows, that doesn't really count.

Will be going to The Gardens Midvalley tomorrow with Trixie, Jialik and Amanda. That's the new wing of Mid valley with Robinsons if you didn't know. Planning to go to Pavillion one day. It has 7 freaking floors!!

And if anyone knows of a good html tutorial website, pls do tell me. Intend to lean html this holidays so I can make my own layouts.

My eyes.

Sweet story.

There was once a blind man, who used to hate everyone except his girlfriend. They were extremely close, he used to say that," I'll marry you if I could just SEE!".

One day, someone donated eyes to him, he was extremely happy when he got out of the surgery room. Once he saw his girlfriend, he was completely astonished. She was also blind!

His girlfriend came up to him and asked him,"...Will you finally decide to marry me now..?". The man refused, her heart broke into pieces. She just smiled and went away, the last words she said was, "Just remember to take care of MY EYES."

She was never seen again.

New moon.

You know I feel more energetic when I sleep at 6 and wake up at 9 than when I sleep at 10 and wake at 7. Weird no??
