yell for more.

As most everyone should know, Cheer 08' was held yesterday and today. Went for today's one seeing the results would only be out today.

So I just wanna say

CONGRATS!!!!!

To the boys team for getting third despite being so inexperienced and losing one of their main flyers a day before the competition.

To the girls team for improving their standing since last year and for raising the bar on cheerleading with more complicated stunts.

Took the LRT in the morning with Trixie, Jialik and her sister, Amanda and her sister and her sister's friend. And my sister. Got there around 9.30 but thank goodness the competition hasn't begun. Let me tell you something funny, this is the first time we took the LRT to Bukit Jalil so there was one point where the line splits into two so there are two different trains. We obviously took the wrong one. You see, there was a bunch of Dynamitez supporters and Blitzerz supporters in front of us so we were just following them. Just goes to show you that you shouldn't follow other people. But we happened to get onto the same train as Aleena and all so it was okay. Trixie just made a comment that the KDU-ians all look like one mafia gang cause our shirts are black and we all walked in one big gang to the stadium.

It was a long day as only a handful of teams were worth watching. The top 15 to be exact. Other than that (not being a show-off or anything), but even our house team cheer could beat at least half of the other teams there.

Results for the day are as follows

1st: Shirtliff from SM Sri Bintang Utara (Don't you think they have a weird name?)
2nd: Dynamitez from SMK DJ
3rd: Stunners All-Boys from SM Sri KDU
4th: Titans from SMK Ave Maria Convent, Ipoh
5th: Xavier from SMK Convent Bukit Nanas

One little thing, I do agree that Shirtliff deserved to get 1st as they had a perfect routine both days, but the thing that annoyed me was that when the emcees announced Dynamitez as 2nd, all the Shirtliff people got up and cheered. Talk about being overconfident that they were going to be first. Me, Trixie, Jia Lik and Amanda were like 'Don't let them get 1st' just cause of their cocky attitude. Shirtliff also won the Silkygirl Merit Award(No deduction of points) and Best Showmanship. So many awards la.

There was also this team that were the kind of team that wore tights to cover up their legs but they did this dance to Buttons by Pussycat dolls that was so OBSCENE!! You could tell the entire stadium was so shocked. I swear, all the younger people now a days like to dance so obscenely. There was a sort of game in between performances where the emcess got 5 girls from the crowd to dance to a Pussycat dolls song. And their moves were such an eyesore. There was this one girl in a denim miniskirt who totally flashed the entire world when she did a high kick in front of the judges.

All in all, Cheer always serves as a memorable occasion. The amount of people, the amount of energy, the funny moments and the gossip that we observe are all memories that can only be experienced at cheer.
