dydx.

Have any of you thought of getting a tattoo??

Well I have. But I know I'm never gonna get one cause years down the line I'm not gonna want the tattoo to sag and look ugly. Haha.

But if I did get a tattoo, here are some places that I might get it.

Wrist.

Ankle.

Just behind the ear.

Nape of the neck.

And yes. All the pictures are of butterfly tattoos.

So pretty right? =)

fireworks.

Sometimes, just sometimes, I'm positively sure of who I am, what's going on in my life and how I'm going to proceed.

Though people say that as you grow older, you mature and become more confident of your identity and where you stand.

I find that as time passes, I get more and more confused with the person I really am and the person I've become.

Perhaps there is no real me. Cause nurture trumps nature.

ghostly.

There's nothing I like better than sitting in my bed with a good book on a rainy day. I like the feel of holding the book in my hands, the feel of paper as I turn the page and the satisfying sense of completion as I close the book and put it down on my bedside table.

As much as I love books, I can't help but feel that with time books are going to be a thing of the past. People no longer want to buy bulky books that only seem to take up space at home or add weight to their luggage when they travel.

Amazon's Kindle is becoming more and more popular and after reading about it, I can see why. Although the Kindle DX costs $489, it can store up to 3,500 books. That's only around $.10 per book. A pretty good deal right? That's if you only download the free books which are mainly older books like the classics. However, if you do want to buy the new books, it's still cheaper to get it on Kindle than it is to buy it at a bookstore.

So yeah, an increasing number of people opt to get Kindle since it's easy to carry around and you can store so much in it.

What do I think about it?

Yeah sure I think I'd eventually find myself buying a Kindle but no matter how realistic they try to make the ebook read, nothing will ever beat a good old fashioned book.

But for now, I like how I can download free books and read them on my laptop using Kindle for Mac =D. There's just so much out there. A good website if you want to read free books, is *FEEDBOOKS* They have loads of good stuff to read. Dante's Divine Comedy, Freud's Dream Psychology, Grimm's Fairy Tales...

Yay for free books!

corum.

No words can express how much I'm gonna miss this class.

Our constant digressions, the many weird jokes that we crack, the feminism(Poor Lucas) and the ever difficult question of "Where are going to eat today?". Haha

As Ms. Anne always says, it is fate that brought us together. Too true.

Pah. This is annoying me to no end.

Who is she?

Like seriously, I know I've seen her before in a dance show but I can't seem to remember anything else. So anyone can help me here?

skim.

I'll admit I've never been a big fan of poetry. I prefer nice lengthy books that describe everything in detail whereas poems just seemed too short and never enough.

But after taking lit for 1.5 years I see that sometimes poems say much more than a passage can. The poet uses just those few words yet they manage to invoke so many different feelings.

Poems just aren't about words on a piece of paper, poems can be read out. And I like this way of looking at poetry. Yet, honestly, tell me how many people you know would attend a poetry recital. I'm sure many years ago it was more common, like in the movie "Dead Poet's Society".

However, doesn't mean it's dead now right?

There's this show called "Def Poetry". And basically it's a poetry recital but these people don't recite the old poems that we would have heard of before like Shakespeare's sonnets. Nope, these people recite their own original poetry.

Some of them are really good but here's one I really like.

bejeweled.

Here's an article I'd like to share with all of you.

"The Childless Couple"
by Ann Landers

There is nothing sadder than a childless couple. It breaks my heart to see them relaxing around swimming pools in Florida, sitting all suntanned and miserable on the decks of their boats -- trotting off to Europe like lonesome fools. It's an empty life. Nothing but money to spend, more time to enjoy and a whole lot less to worry about.

The poor childless couple are so wrapped up in themselves, you have to feel sorry for them. They don't fight over the child's discipline, don't blame each other for the child's most obnoxious characteristics, and they miss all the fun of doing without for the child's sake. They just go along, doing whatever they want, buying what they want and liking each other. It's a pretty pathetic picture.

Everyone should have children. No one should be allowed to escape the wonderful experience that accompanies each stage in the development of the young -- the happy memories of sleepless nights, coughing spells, tantrums, diaper rash, debts, "dipso" baby sitters, saturated mattresses, emergencies and never-ending crises.

How dismal is the peaceful home without the constant childish problems that make a well-rounded life and an early breakdown; the tender, thoughtful discussions when the report card reveals the progeny to be one step below a moron; the end-of-the-day reunions with all the joyful happenings recited like well-placed blows to the temples.

Children are worth it. Every moment of anxiety, every sacrifice, every complete collapse pays off as a fine, sturdy adolescent is reached. The feeling of reward the first time you took the boy hunting -- he didn't mean to shoot you, the lad was excited. Remember how he cried? How sorry he was? And how much better you felt after the blood transfusion? These are the times a man with a growing son treasures -- memories that are captured forever in the heart and the limp.

Think back to the night of romantic adventure when your budding daughter eloped with the village idiot. What childless couple ever shared in the stark realism of that drama? Aren't you a better man for having lived richly, fully, acquiring that tic in your left eye? Could a woman without children touch the strength and heroism of your wife as she tried to fling herself out of the bedroom window?

The childless couple live in a vacuum. They fill their lonely days with golf, vacation trips, dinner dates, civic affairs, tranquility, leisure and entertainment. There is a terrifying emptiness without children, but the childless couple are too comfortable to know it.

You just have to look at them to see what the years have done: He looks boyish, unlined and rested; she's slim, well-groomed and youthful. It isn't natural. If they had had kids, they'd look like the rest of us -- worn out, wrinkled and exhausted.

Interesting right?

Also if you're interested, *HERE* is a link to a list of common reasons of why people choose to have children or not.

It's mainly bout the fact that society always labels those who don't want children as selfish. Which is so totally not true as proven by the article.

Just read Kim's blog and saw this
