wizard.

Kinda lazy to blog now a days. Not sure why. I think cause it actually requires brain power to sit down and type stuff out that will actually make sense to people and not just me. Haha.

Slight update on my Aussie trip. More for memory's sake so that when I grow old I'd be able to read through this blog and remember all the things I got up to.

11 days in Australia was BEYOND tiring. As in I don't think I've ever been so sleep deprived.

Melbourne was only a few of us so it wasn't so bad. We still went to bed at a decent-ish hour (anything before 3 is decent when you put a bunch of friends together) and woke up before noon. Yays! Didn't really do much in Melbourne city as had two mini 'roadtrips' driving off to Dandenong and Mornington Peninsula. It was definitely the more relaxed part of the trip.

Did manage to catch sight of two penguins fighting at St. Kilda's. Soooo cute. One was chasing the other the whole time and it was a 'catfight' but penguin style. Totally looked like a lover's quarrel.

Then came Sydney. Here our group doubled in size. Basically there were like 11 of us walking around together. Everything we did took more time than expected. Even crossing the street we'd have to wait a while cause the light would turn red and half our group would still be on the other side of the road. Dad said we were like a walking Chinatown.

Two days in a row we woke up before the sunrise. Crazy no? Once was to go to the fish market where I had fresh sashimi, oysters and lobsters for a really decent price. It was yummyyyyy. The other was to go up to Blue Mountains. I swear everyone was just running on caffeine those days.

All in all it was a really good trip =). It's been a while since the bunch of us have hung out together.

But I don't think I'd be up for another one so soon. Those 11 days really drained me.

could.

Life is sort of back to normal now I suppose.

Though really. What is normal?

Is it the 3 months of being bored out of my mind. Doing nothing but going to uni. Coming home and wasting time.

Or.

The last 3 months of being out almost every night. Till 4 in the morning.

Hmmm. We'll see just how much has changed.

cluster.

The past week has probably been the most eventful week I've had for a long time.

Went for my first open mic night. The Bee @ Jaya One.

Some acts were better than others of course but overall it was a fun night. Bumped into a couple of people I have seen in a long time too. Goes to show how small the world is. Cause it's not like it was a huge event, mainly for IACT students so was surprised to see anyone I knew at all.

Then Friday went to a salsa club. Paradise @ Lodge Paradize Hotel.

Yes you read that right. I went to a club where everyone on the dance floor salsas. I was soooo tired by the end of it though. Definitely did more dancing there in comparison to class. Didn't embarrass myself too much I think. But everyone there is more experienced. Like they've been learning for at LEAST a year. Whereas I've barely been learning for three months.

And on Saturday, it was Oktoberfest @ 1U.

One Card holders get a free bottle of beer. And not like it was local beer, it was a not so small bottle of German beer. Didn't do much other than eat or drink.

So yes. It's been a week of firsts.

neg.

After today's trip, I've never been more glad that I was born early and therefore became a 1991 kid instead of 1992.

Today was really fun. Melaka trip with Marcia and Caroline. Okay fine, it was actually with the Psych '10 class too cause they had went to the zoo and stuff so that they can do a presentation.

Haha. Some of the highlights.

1. Butterfly that stayed like forever on Marcia's shirt.

2. It raining when we wanted to go Jonker Street and thus we had to be 'creative' =P.

3. Chendol!!!

4. Just the fact that I got to spend time with those two =). I swear it's always us three together. Lunch together, movie together, now trip also together.

"Friends are the family we choose for ourselves"
~ Edna Buchanan

Maybe not all of you would agree with this quote but I do. It's not that I particularly dislike my family, but it's those few friends of mine that have made life just that much more bearable.

I've always considered myself quite lucky when it comes to making friends. It's like at every new chapter of my life, I make a few good friends whom I'm pretty sure I'd still be talking to 10 years from now.

The problem is that time passes way too fast. Everybody is slowly going their own separate ways =(. Last year it was Trixie and Jia. Now, in a few hours time Melissa is flying off to Australia. Before you realise, everybody has gone off to uni and then we only get to see each other once or twice a year when we're all back in Malaysia.

Soon enough, you'll be getting wedding invitations. Gah. Feeling so old seeing as this is our last year of being a teenager.

wink

Phew. Tiring weekend.

On Saturday had a double surprise farewell. Fen and Matt's surprise farewell at Nat's. She actually told them that they were going fishing for her birthday. And the funny thing is that once we surprised them, seperately, the first thought they had was "But I really wanted to go fishing!!". Haha. I wanna try fishing too. But definitely with a good group of people if not I think I'd die of boredom waiting for the fish to bite.

Then at night was another surprise farewell for...Fen. Yup you read that right, we surprised her twice in one day. Cause the one at night was organized by her mum. They had a lok-lok truck!! Yes I'm pretty jakun bout it cause I've never eater lok-lok before =P.

Then yesterday I had Kuen Cheng reunion as well as Melissa's farewell =(. I wish I could have stayed longer at the reunion. Can't imagine that it's already been seven years since I left Kuen Cheng. This reunion was for the entire year so got to see many others from the other classes. Okay, it's not like I know many of them, but it was nice to be transported back to childhood days. Even teachers came. And I never realised this before, but for standard six, all the classes homeroom teachers were women. Like, where are the men??? My class, 6M had about 15? people who turned up. Of which only three were guys. Yes it's that sad. The class thinks that it's cause the guys aren't as sentimental as us girls. Yet, the rest of the classes had a pretty equal amount. Ah well. Maybe at the next reunion.

Went over to Melissa's later. Just the usual people there. And you people should seriously watch Marcus and Pui Yi play laser hockey on Wii. Their reactions are just sooooo funny. Both so kiasu till they played four rounds cause Pui Yi kept winning. Haha. After going back to Pui Yi's so make sure Tuna(her extremely cute hamster) was okay, we went to mamak. Where Pui Yi as usual made everyone eat and get fat =P.

sajna.

Had lunch today at Chili's, 1U with Caroline, Marcia, Kim, Pam, Lisa, Jun Kit, Sean, Daniel, Ee Tzen and Leon.

I had a pretty entertaining time.

After that Jun Kit&Marcia went against Daniel&Lisa in a game of pool. And I swear the most popular phrase mentioned during the two games was "No pressure". Haha. Don't you think that just gives people more pressure?

Anyways, watched Couples Retreat with Marcia and Caroline. The movie was not bad. Definitely better than I expected. I thought it'd be a lot of slapstick comedy, but I must say there were quite a number of awww inducing moments. Which of course only applied to me and Marcia while we had Caroline giving us a weird look and saying "You two ah."

So yeah, it was a good day.

P.S Thanks for the present people =). There is much "sentimental" value there =P.

you got me.

GUESS WHAT????

Friday the 13th is over. Which also means that 13 November 2009 is long gone.

Which ultimately means that AS finals are OVERRRRRRR
(for the Arts people anyways. sorry Science people.)

After getting a present for Lisa, Pam, Marcia and I went over to Lisa's. Where I swear, I haven't laughed so much for such a long time. While I'd only just met many of them at the party, it was fun =D.

Back to daily blogging now =).

don't matter.

Answer to previous post's question.

*I'd save my mother but die with you.*

Yes I know it sounds like a stupid decision. But hey, the romantic in me likes it =D.

Haha.

Anyways,

Yesterday went for the Clinical Psychology talk organized by Student Council. It was pretty interesting. Nice to know that real life hypnosis isn't like the kind you watch on TV with the swinging watch and people clucking like chickens.

Then after that went to Marcia's place for lunch. She cooked!! =). It was a good lunch.

Went back home bout 5.30 and spent some time at home before driving out to 1U. Had dinner with Jia, Fi and Belinda. Was still full from lunch so didn't have much for dinner.

That's about it. Holiday day one gone.

Friday, September 11, 2009

might as well.

3 movies. 2 days. 1 very happy Weng Yee =D.

Haha. So exams were over yesterday for those of us who don't take law or bio.

Went over to 1U right after last paper(Thinking Skills 1). Ate at Big Apple, bought bubble tea from Little Taiwan before the 5 of us(Caroline, Marcia, Pam, Anthea and I) watched my The Ugly Truth.

I give it a MUST WATCH!!!!

Though the story line is cliched and predictable the jokes are good. Haven't laughed so much during a romantic comedy for ages.

Anthea went back after that as she had a dinner while the rest of us spent A LOT of time in MPH. Haha. Had dinner at Vietnamese Kitchen and the proceeded to watch Up. It was quite good for a cartoon. The beginning was soooooo sad though. Won't spoil it for you but I did feel that perhaps really young kids wouldn't enjoy this movie as much as older kids would.

Oh oh oh! My sister watched the same movie as me. Yes you're probably going "So what?". But it's my youngest sister, Weng Mun. First time ever I think that she's going out with her friends with no parents. I feel old. I do indeed.

Today went to 1U again. Sigh. This time to meet up with Jia Lik and Amanda for another movie. Sam joined us for bubble tea(yes from the same place) while we waited for Fu to get herself over to 1U. Had lunch at Delicious where if you heard our conversation you'd think that we lived in Harry Potter land. Strange we are.

3rd movie was Final Destination in 3D. Gah. Not for the faint hearted. While most who watched it in 2D said it was really boring, it is anything but if you watch it in 3D. Oh so gruesome and terrifying. Never again. But I must say it was a very imaginative movie. Very creative ways to die.

Drive home was okay. Motorcycles scare me when they do that cutting into everyone's lane thing. Especially when there are two motorcycles on each side cutting in.

guns and butter.

Hey people,

don't know whether you people know but apparently there's this

Dell College Idol 2009

and vote for a friend of mine. MIKE SAM!!!

Haha. So yeah. The pic is so typical him(SUNWAY 04).

Now, why did these Dell not come to our Hartamas campus?? I feel that TCSH misses out on a lot of college events just cause most people don't know bout our campus. Sigh.

production.

It takes time to find your place in the world.

But now more than ever I feel that I'm actually making progress with figuring out where I belong.

Fruits session over at Lucas's two days in a row. Two different groups of people. I must say that yesterday was definitely more entertaining. Ryan, one of Lucas's friends is HILARIOUS. So many super duper lame and twisted jokes between all of us there. And I've eaten more durian in the past two days than I've eaten in my entire life.

carbon monoxide.

Stayed back on Friday to watch Twelfth Night with Lucas, Marcia, Kim and Caroline. Yes, we're lifeless like that. Anyways, the version that we watched in the library isn't that great. Still like the Hollywood version. It's easier to watch for some reason. After the first half hour of Twelfth Night we got bored so skipped on to watch the parts that we wanted.

Went to Midvalley after that. It was Kim's belated celebration. She actually wanted to go to Chilli's but the branch at MV is annoying. They wouldn't let us make a reservation. So in the end went to San Francisco Steakhouse to make a reservation. Then it was walk walk walk until 7.30. Met a bunch of Kim's friends who are mainly from GIS. Let's just say we all saw this new side of Kim that is so different. Okay fine, not that different. But she was SO HYPER. Anyhow, it was fun. =D. Kim is now 17 and on her way to thinking like Caroline. Haha. Only lit people will really understand. Oh well.

Then on Saturday I had to wake up SUPER early. Like 6 am early. Wanna know why??

Because I was going to the zoo. And no, it was not to visit 'relatives'. Raleigh International KL organized this event called Zooriffic where you joined to volunteer at the zoo. Caroline asked me to go so I agreed. Tim tagged along with us too. We were assigned to the bird section of the zoo. While we spent a lot of time just sweeping the enclosure, also got to feed the birds =). Overall it was a good yet tiring experience. My back hurt like hell after that.

Later that night went over to Trixie's to surprise her. It was a relatively funny sight to see 6 people creeping up the stairs and hiding in her room. It would have been a good surprise if not for the fact that Pui Yi's cough gave us away. Then the girls all went back to Melissa's to sleepover. But not before Trixie had a driving lesson with Aleena =P. To Amanda: Trixie's driving is better than yours!!

Woke up for breakfast at Village Park the next morning. And we've realized that there's been a pattern of going to Village Park after a sleepover whenever it's someone's birthday. I got dropped home after that cause my dad wanted me to follow him somewhere. Planning to go to Melissa's place after I'm done with some lit analysis.

Guess where that somewhere was that my dad wanted me to follow him to? Car showroom!! YES! My dad has finally decided to book the car. Hopefully I'll get the car in a week =D. MyVi in Medallion Grey. Actually wanted black but my dad said no.

caving in.

Had a fun econs class yesterday! =D. We had to fold and staple paper. A better of saying it is that we formed a production line. So yeah.

Went for dinner last night. Thanks Lam!! =). Haha. Seeing as he is going back to swine flu central on saturday, so Trixie and I went for dinner with him. Not much, just basic catching up.

On the other hand, my mummy came to pick me so late. Due to a certain reason that I shall not mention cause she reads my blog so she'll probably ask me to take the funny story off!! HAHAHAHAHAHA. I'll leave it up to your imagination as to what happened.

Something funny regarding lit class. For some reason, the same people always end up in the same group. For example we have to split into groups of four to do a weekly revision thing for the AS syllabus. It was totally random and by luck as we drew lots. And guess what. It was Caroline, Lucas, Marcia and I. Quite funny as it's like the third time we've been grouped together randomly for lit. Must be fate =P.

got it.

So here's a more detailed account of promtay 2009.

Definitely fun. Though the music got repetitive after a while. Food was pretty good I must say. Entertainment was good too. Though the Latin dance was a tad.....for want of a better word, revealing.

Other than that it was good. The place looks much bigger in the photographs. But it is quite a classy place. Good place to have parties.

Was it worth RM80??

I would say not. But seeing as it's all going to charity it's okay.

This photo is uploaded due to the fact that SOMEONE does not have facebook. =P

Then Sunday was my brother's birthday. 8 years old and still not showing any signs of maturing. Oh well, guys are always slower than girls. Went for the buffet dinner at PJ Hilton. Where most of the food was Malaysia styles which meant it included a lot of curry. The dessert was good =D. I ate like so much longan. Yummy.

And then today went for a photoshoot organized by Jasmin! for the ballet people. Mainly for the seniors as it was our last ever concert. Quite fun! =D.

Will definitely post the pics when I get them.

day and night.

With the first day of the second semester of college starting tomorrow, it had me thinking about how much I've changed this year.

While I haven't changed drastically, I feel that I have matured a lot.

Especially with the whole public transport thing. Now so many places are more accesible cause all I have to do is ask my mum to drop me off at the LRT. It's a wonder how a little walking and the LRT can help you get to so many places. Guess Malaysian public transport isn't that bad.

And the friends I've made in college surprise me. It surprises me how close we've all gotten in this short span of time. Though I still have the KDU people i.e Trixie, Pui Yi, Melissa, Aleena, Jia Lik and Amanda. Those of us in the same class have really spent a lot of time with each other.

There really is a difference between being in a science and an arts class. I could totally feel that some how I don't belong in a science class. But being in Taylor's now, I feel that the class is filled with like minded people. Or it could just be the fact that we talk to each other so much during Lit. The one subject where we're expected to talk to each other a lot. To share RELEVANT ideas of course. Though we always digress.

I am looking forward to the end of A-levels. But just so that the workload will ease off. Not looking forward to the fact that everyone I know would end up in different places. Particularly those people who are not going to the UK.

white roses.

Updates on the last couple of days.

Had a farewell for Faiz on Thursday. He's leaving for KYUEM(Kolej Yayasan United Engineers of Malaysia) in July as most of you know. Lucas originally told him that there were only 4 of us as the others were too busy. But the actual truth was that others were laying in wait to surprise him.

Those who turned up. Jun Kit left earlier.

So yeah. It was fun. Went to mamak after dinner. Pretty fun.

We're going to miss you Faiz. College will never be the same.

Had my last day of work yesterday. I am going to sort of miss it. Different kind of people. Yet I find that they're just a slightly more grown up version of those in college. The jokes cracked are relatively the same. Highlight of the day is still lunch.

Ah well. Went to Pavillion after work to watch Transformers 2 with Caroline, Lucas, Marcia and Darren. I would say that I enjoyed the movie. But it is WAY overrated. There is no way I'm sitting through another 2.5 hours of mainly mindless action.

And then finally today I went for a treasure hunt. Along with Amanda, Kim and Caroline. Organized by MENGO. It was freaking hard. The questions were seriously difficult. The only way people could have gotten the answers is if they are seasoned treasure hunters. Guess it's time to join more!! Haha.
