Day 4

Up bright and early for out flight to Ibiza! *Pronounced E-bee-tha* Strangess I know.

Honestly there isn't much to say, cause didn't really do much. Ibiza has many areas but we ended up in San Antonio a.k.a party central. Apparently where all the uni students who want it party up stay. Dumped all our stuff in the apartment and it was off to the beach!

The beach nearest to us was pretty small. Nonetheless while some people went to play in the sea I took a nap. And ended up with sand EVERYWHERE. My eyes, my ears, my mouth, my bag, my clothes. It was just all over the place. Such a bother. And that was it. That's what I did the whole day. Haha.

Night time however. Went to this club for a water party. The thing is, cause we signed up for this package thing we had to be in the club by a certain time for the guaranteed entry. Which was honestly wayy too early by Spain standards. And the stupid water was only expected at 5am by which most of us were pretty dead on our feet. Music was good though cause they played a nice mix of old stuff that you can sing along too alongside the new stuff.

Day 5

While the day was suppose to start in the morning, by the time everyone got up and was ready to go it was well pass noon. Seeing as we were staying in San Antonio, the day was a day trip to Ibiza town to see D'Alt Vila. The old part built on a hill in Ibiza town.

The sea was such a gorgeous colour.

Overview of Ibiza town.

It was quite a climb to the top but the views more than made up for it.

Night was another night out for a Neon Party

Everyone had neon paint all over them. Fun night but getting everything off our skin and clothes was a hassle. Especially since we were pretty worn out after getting back.

Day 6

Wednesday! As I've mentioned in my previous post I absolutely love flea markets. So when I found out that there was a hippy market every Wednesday at Es Cana, how could I say no? Thankfully I'm not the only one who loves flea markets so everyone came along to do a little bit of shopping.

But honestly, it was so much small when compared to El Rastro in Madrid and most sold the same things like accessories and tie-tyed clothes.

There was suppose to be a bar crawl that night. However, seeing as we're not used to partying so much we decided to sit it out. Instead, we sat on the beach and just talked. Slightly cold at night though so we didn't stay out for that long. It was the last night for Ashley and Krystal as they both had flights to catch.

Day 7

The remaining 5 of us wanted to wake up early and catch a boat to San Miguel to see the Cova de Can Marca which is supposedly a must see in Ibiza. Sad to say we didn't wake up in time. Haha. Walked around a bit wanting to get tickets to David Guetta's F*** Me I'm Famous night at Pacha but at 70euros we had to think about it a little more. So in the mean time we went to the beach again. On the way there, we passed by some booths advertising water sports like banana boats and jet skiing. One thing that caught everyone's eye was paragliding which is where you get strapped down and sent up into the air with a boat pulling you along.

I'm terrified of heights but seeing as this was going to be the only I'd every do such a thing I agreed to go for it as well. 45euros for a two hour experience out in the waters with 15minutes of being let up into the sky through a 1500metre long rope. Sounds good.

And we have take off!

Got dunked into the water a couple of times.

That's us up there.

Beautiful sunset after.

We got onboard another boat to watch the sunset together.

Super memorable ending to our time in Ibiza.

cluster.

The past week has probably been the most eventful week I've had for a long time.

Went for my first open mic night. The Bee @ Jaya One.

Some acts were better than others of course but overall it was a fun night. Bumped into a couple of people I have seen in a long time too. Goes to show how small the world is. Cause it's not like it was a huge event, mainly for IACT students so was surprised to see anyone I knew at all.

Then Friday went to a salsa club. Paradise @ Lodge Paradize Hotel.

Yes you read that right. I went to a club where everyone on the dance floor salsas. I was soooo tired by the end of it though. Definitely did more dancing there in comparison to class. Didn't embarrass myself too much I think. But everyone there is more experienced. Like they've been learning for at LEAST a year. Whereas I've barely been learning for three months.

And on Saturday, it was Oktoberfest @ 1U.

One Card holders get a free bottle of beer. And not like it was local beer, it was a not so small bottle of German beer. Didn't do much other than eat or drink.

So yes. It's been a week of firsts.

wink

Phew. Tiring weekend.

On Saturday had a double surprise farewell. Fen and Matt's surprise farewell at Nat's. She actually told them that they were going fishing for her birthday. And the funny thing is that once we surprised them, seperately, the first thought they had was "But I really wanted to go fishing!!". Haha. I wanna try fishing too. But definitely with a good group of people if not I think I'd die of boredom waiting for the fish to bite.

Then at night was another surprise farewell for...Fen. Yup you read that right, we surprised her twice in one day. Cause the one at night was organized by her mum. They had a lok-lok truck!! Yes I'm pretty jakun bout it cause I've never eater lok-lok before =P.

Then yesterday I had Kuen Cheng reunion as well as Melissa's farewell =(. I wish I could have stayed longer at the reunion. Can't imagine that it's already been seven years since I left Kuen Cheng. This reunion was for the entire year so got to see many others from the other classes. Okay, it's not like I know many of them, but it was nice to be transported back to childhood days. Even teachers came. And I never realised this before, but for standard six, all the classes homeroom teachers were women. Like, where are the men??? My class, 6M had about 15? people who turned up. Of which only three were guys. Yes it's that sad. The class thinks that it's cause the guys aren't as sentimental as us girls. Yet, the rest of the classes had a pretty equal amount. Ah well. Maybe at the next reunion.

Went over to Melissa's later. Just the usual people there. And you people should seriously watch Marcus and Pui Yi play laser hockey on Wii. Their reactions are just sooooo funny. Both so kiasu till they played four rounds cause Pui Yi kept winning. Haha. After going back to Pui Yi's so make sure Tuna(her extremely cute hamster) was okay, we went to mamak. Where Pui Yi as usual made everyone eat and get fat =P.

you got me.

GUESS WHAT????

Friday the 13th is over. Which also means that 13 November 2009 is long gone.

Which ultimately means that AS finals are OVERRRRRRR
(for the Arts people anyways. sorry Science people.)

After getting a present for Lisa, Pam, Marcia and I went over to Lisa's. Where I swear, I haven't laughed so much for such a long time. While I'd only just met many of them at the party, it was fun =D.

Back to daily blogging now =).

laying flowers.

In the past two days, I've spent almost 12 hours in college. Yes, I spent more time in college than I did at home. Haha.

On Thursday stayed on till 7 cause was going to watch Kaki Blue at night with Caroline. Kaki Blue was GOOD!!!! Must watch. Seriously. The jokes are so funny cause they're all Malaysian-ised. Singing was quite good for most of the characters and acting was good too. Only downside is that the ending was way too abrupt. Like you're watching watching then suddenly it's "The End". And you're left going "What??".

Then yesterday stayed back to watch the performance by the Music Club titled "Transmusion". It was.....not bad. Clearly some performances were better than others. And you could tell who was and who wasn't comfortable in front of the crowd. Funny thing to note is that they had a couple of performances where it was Korean songs. And guess what?? I actually know and have heard of all those songs. Too much exposure to the Korean culture.

That lasted till 7 and then my mum picked me up and dropped me off at Pui Yi's. No occasion whatsoever but Marcus was cooking so some of us (Melissa, Yew Loong, Trixie & I) got invited over for dinner =). Yummy stuff. After eating went for a dip in the pool for a while before going back to Pui Yi's for dessert. Mum picked me around 11 to go home.

And now it's time to embark on a weekend of studying. Or at least attempted studying.

carbon monoxide.

Stayed back on Friday to watch Twelfth Night with Lucas, Marcia, Kim and Caroline. Yes, we're lifeless like that. Anyways, the version that we watched in the library isn't that great. Still like the Hollywood version. It's easier to watch for some reason. After the first half hour of Twelfth Night we got bored so skipped on to watch the parts that we wanted.

Went to Midvalley after that. It was Kim's belated celebration. She actually wanted to go to Chilli's but the branch at MV is annoying. They wouldn't let us make a reservation. So in the end went to San Francisco Steakhouse to make a reservation. Then it was walk walk walk until 7.30. Met a bunch of Kim's friends who are mainly from GIS. Let's just say we all saw this new side of Kim that is so different. Okay fine, not that different. But she was SO HYPER. Anyhow, it was fun. =D. Kim is now 17 and on her way to thinking like Caroline. Haha. Only lit people will really understand. Oh well.

Then on Saturday I had to wake up SUPER early. Like 6 am early. Wanna know why??

Because I was going to the zoo. And no, it was not to visit 'relatives'. Raleigh International KL organized this event called Zooriffic where you joined to volunteer at the zoo. Caroline asked me to go so I agreed. Tim tagged along with us too. We were assigned to the bird section of the zoo. While we spent a lot of time just sweeping the enclosure, also got to feed the birds =). Overall it was a good yet tiring experience. My back hurt like hell after that.

Later that night went over to Trixie's to surprise her. It was a relatively funny sight to see 6 people creeping up the stairs and hiding in her room. It would have been a good surprise if not for the fact that Pui Yi's cough gave us away. Then the girls all went back to Melissa's to sleepover. But not before Trixie had a driving lesson with Aleena =P. To Amanda: Trixie's driving is better than yours!!

Woke up for breakfast at Village Park the next morning. And we've realized that there's been a pattern of going to Village Park after a sleepover whenever it's someone's birthday. I got dropped home after that cause my dad wanted me to follow him somewhere. Planning to go to Melissa's place after I'm done with some lit analysis.

Guess where that somewhere was that my dad wanted me to follow him to? Car showroom!! YES! My dad has finally decided to book the car. Hopefully I'll get the car in a week =D. MyVi in Medallion Grey. Actually wanted black but my dad said no.

got it.

So here's a more detailed account of promtay 2009.

Definitely fun. Though the music got repetitive after a while. Food was pretty good I must say. Entertainment was good too. Though the Latin dance was a tad.....for want of a better word, revealing.

Other than that it was good. The place looks much bigger in the photographs. But it is quite a classy place. Good place to have parties.

Was it worth RM80??

I would say not. But seeing as it's all going to charity it's okay.

This photo is uploaded due to the fact that SOMEONE does not have facebook. =P

Then Sunday was my brother's birthday. 8 years old and still not showing any signs of maturing. Oh well, guys are always slower than girls. Went for the buffet dinner at PJ Hilton. Where most of the food was Malaysia styles which meant it included a lot of curry. The dessert was good =D. I ate like so much longan. Yummy.

And then today went for a photoshoot organized by Jasmin! for the ballet people. Mainly for the seniors as it was our last ever concert. Quite fun! =D.

Will definitely post the pics when I get them.

do not.

Promtay yesterday. More details on it tomorrow after I'm done with the pics. And also cause I'm so sleepy.

Dinner tonight as it was brother's 8th birthday.

Lots of food + Weng Yee = Full, Happy yet Sleepy Weng Yee.

white roses.

Updates on the last couple of days.

Had a farewell for Faiz on Thursday. He's leaving for KYUEM(Kolej Yayasan United Engineers of Malaysia) in July as most of you know. Lucas originally told him that there were only 4 of us as the others were too busy. But the actual truth was that others were laying in wait to surprise him.

Those who turned up. Jun Kit left earlier.

So yeah. It was fun. Went to mamak after dinner. Pretty fun.

We're going to miss you Faiz. College will never be the same.

Had my last day of work yesterday. I am going to sort of miss it. Different kind of people. Yet I find that they're just a slightly more grown up version of those in college. The jokes cracked are relatively the same. Highlight of the day is still lunch.

Ah well. Went to Pavillion after work to watch Transformers 2 with Caroline, Lucas, Marcia and Darren. I would say that I enjoyed the movie. But it is WAY overrated. There is no way I'm sitting through another 2.5 hours of mainly mindless action.

And then finally today I went for a treasure hunt. Along with Amanda, Kim and Caroline. Organized by MENGO. It was freaking hard. The questions were seriously difficult. The only way people could have gotten the answers is if they are seasoned treasure hunters. Guess it's time to join more!! Haha.

degrees of winning.

To all Taylor-ians,

You know the After Exam Bash at 7ate9 that's suppose to happen this saturday(13 June)?

Well,

It has apparently been postponed to 27 June.

So yeah. I'm just passing on the news.

But I do encourage everyone to go.

After all, RM70 for dinner at 7ate9. SO worth it!!!

teach me.

Went to Bon Ton last night for Pui Yi's birthday.

Food was good. Company was good too =D.

BUT, thank goodness Amanda came along. If not, I would have been very 'bright'. Haha.

We're done with "A View from the Bridge" in Lit. Now there's only the analysis left to do.

Boo. I need a holiday. Truly I do.

the climb.

Time sometimes passes us by too fast that it seems as if we barely lived through one moment before the next one is upon us.

Yesterday went over to Aleena's for a small birthday thing. And while we were reading the letter Trixie sent(yes we missed you loads Trixie. ), Melissa saw the part where Trixie wrote 'Happy 18th Birthday'. Guess what? Melissa went "Eh, did Trixie write the wrong age?".

Hahahahahahaha.

See? We never realise just how far we have gone in life.

So we just spent our time there eating and talking. Many times one of us would start a new topic by going "Remember the time when..." and it made us seem so old. Was supposed to have slept over but due to some complications I went back with Melissa and slept there instead.

Had another driving lesson today and I must say that I'm not as scared of the road as I was last time when I first started. My test is only on the 23 though so I'm gonna be taking 4 extra lessons than most people would have taken. Meaning that I would have 18 hours instead of the usual 10.

too not over you.

Went to 1U with Trixie and Jessie just now. We watched Yes Man.

It was a pretty okay movie. But it had a bad ending. Could have been better.

Then we went to Wui Yang's for his 'open house'/farewell.

On another note,

Here are a few things that I saw on a group on Facebook which I found pretty funny and true. Not going to post all but here's a link to the group.

You know you've been in Malaysia too long when...

1. You've got a variety of lah, mah, meh, lor etc. in your vocabulary and use them constantly.

5. You forgot why piracy is supposed to be bad when it's apparent how good it is.

8. Your local friends complain they can't get any pork at their university and you fully understand.

13. There are more lanes of cars than there are actual car lanes, and you are one of the people, happily driving in the emergency lane.

25. You find yourself in foreign countries asking for 100+ and are shocked when you can't get it, then experience severe withdrawal symptoms.

30. You have actually seen the mysterious 2RM note.

37. Purple balls hanging from a 5 story christmas tree no longer look unusual.

38. Gardenia tastes "so good, you can even eat it on its own".

39. You say "I'm on my way" and really mean "I'm just getting into the shower." Upon arriving 20 minutes late, you blame it on the traffic.

Those are some of my favourite ones.

24 hours.

You know how wearing a ring on your fourth finger of your left hand means your married?

Well if you wear a ring on the fourth finger of your right hand it means you'd prefer not to marry.

Bet you didn't know that did you.

So what rings on other fingers?

Here is what it means:

Thumb: Single and not looking.

Pointer: Single and looking.

Middle: Engaged/In a relationship and not looking.

Fourth: Married.
Pinky: Open relationship/Divorced.

These all apply for the left hand only. Don't know bout the right hand.

Went for a Christmas party last night at Amanda's new house. Not Amanda Ooi, Amanda Chua. My neighbour when I was living in Hartamas. Li Khim came too. Nice to catch up with them. We all haven't really changed much.

Sunday, June 08, 2008

my pulse is flatlined.

Okay, basically if you see me with a huge ass bruise on my thigh, left arm and bits of skin peeled off on both my arms, I'm sure you'd pretty much be able to sum up the fact that either I'm super clumsy or I got into a fight. The answer is the latter. Most of the time I try to keep my cool in all situations and try to be the peacemaker. But I'm sure we all have our bitchy moments. And on Saturday I totally lost my cool.

The basic reason is that Weng Yan took the Roxy Summer Splash tickets and wouldn't give them to me. Reason being that since she can't go. Neither can I. So obviously I got freaking pissed at her since she took the tickets and hid them. And it's not like it was one ticket, I was going with a bunch of people and all their tickets were with me. So that's why the fight happened. Ultimately my mum intervened and made her give me the tickets.

Also, Weng Yan was pissed at me to begin with. Now that I think back to why she was angry at me I can't help but laugh as the reason is SO petty and stupid. You see, on Friday night she was watching Gossip Girl on my laptop. So around 1 I come into the room and tell her to switch the com off as I wanna sleep already. Logical right? But she threw a tantrum as she said that she only had one more episode to watch. And it wasn't like I wouldn't let her watch anymore. I totally told her that she could continue watching the next day. But noooooo she just had to be 'Miss the whole entire world should revolve around me'.

Now if you wanna know why she couldn't go for the Summer Splash is that she's grounded. Why? Cause she sneaked out on a date with a guy. Most of you should know who he is. My dad caught the two of them coming out of the cinema together and got really really really really mad. It's not so much the dating thing but rather she lied about who she was going out with. Her phone got confiscated too. So basically this is the event which has put her in a foul mood the entire freaking week.

What's more you know what she told my mum?? That I'm an alcoholic. Hahahahahahahahaha. She said that's the reason I'm so moody. Any person in my household can tell you that she's definitely more moody that me. So my mum now knows what happens at all the parties I go to and is pretty sceptical about ever letting me sleepover. Puh-lease, I totally know my limits so nothing ever happens with me at these parties.

On another note, Summer Splash wasn't as eventful as I though it'd be. Roxy totally gave the tickets away too easily so there were like a MILLION people there.

School starts tomorrow. Someone stop time please.

Thursday, May 29, 2008

you know why.

Went to Gardens yesterday for a small thing for Puiyi's b'day. Just the 5 of us. Something that hasn't happened for a long time. It seems like one of us is always too busy to go out.

Anyway, had dinner at a place called Cova. The food was not bad. Went for a movie later at Signature. It's actually just a higher class of cinemas by GSC. As in they only have premier and gold class. It was such a couple place. All the seats only come as a double so when we went it the place was mostly filled with couples. We watched 'What Happens in Vegas'. The movie was good and oh so funny!!!

Have band practice later. And actually there's another thing at Aleena's house. But seeing as my dad is such an ass, he says I can't go. Going for band practice also want to scold me. In normal circumstances I wouldn't tell him. But my mum is going to Indonesia with my sisters and brother so I have to tell my dad as I have piano class later tonight.

Can't believe that the first week of holidays are almost over.

suave as hell.

It feels like a gazillion things have happened since I last blogged.

On Friday it was Melissa's birthday. So a few of us, wait. Make that many of us went to Somo for dinner. Somo's this jap restaurant/pub somewhere in Mont Kiara. The food there was quite nice. So after eating, while we were waiting for the adults to finish up, we walked over to Baskin Robbins!! Love their ice-cream =). Spent some time there and when we got bored walked over to Starbucks. All the girls (Melissa, Trixie, Aleena, Jessie, Puiyi & I) went back to Melissa's place to sleepover. As usual, we slept too late. BUT, we managed to wake up for open day. Okay, so we were a bit late. But it wasn't really a big deal cause rehearsals always start late anyway.

Open day went by in a flurry. It's like all I ever did was rehearse and perform. I did have a little time to watch the IB students do their Julius Caeser which wasn't that bad. Medley went by without any problems. Or at least without any obvious mistakes. Cheer went okay. Despite the music screw up at the beginning. Even though I know a lot of people had doubts as to whether we could pull off the 4 house thing, I think our performance was something that can never be repeated. Do you know how hard it is to coordinate 4 houses?? Not easy I tell you. After everything went over to the library prefect booth to help out. Sales for the day weren't as good as I expected. But I think we made enough to have a profit.

Went home around 5 cause had to help clean up. Showered and then went over to 1U for the BB dinner. The ticket said 7 but as usual with Malaysian time the dinner only started at 7.45. And it wasn't even the real start of food yet. We still had to hear speeches and watch performances. But the food finally came and we could start eating. Food was okay and the sketch was quite entertaining. Finished the dinner around 11 and then my mum picked us up.

This morning had to wake up earlier as MYF was leading junior church. Mei Yan asked me to be liturgist so I agreed. Was quite unprepared for it and with the exception of a few mistakes everything went well. Now if only I could pronounce 'R' then it would all be better.

Totally did not get enough sleep in the past few days till I was so SLEEPY during tennis. My coach caught me yawning so many times.

So that's my past few days summed up. Sorry if the post is too wordy but am lazy to upload the pics from my camera. Going to China this Friday!!!To Xian to see the terracotta warriors. It's actually my dad's work thing but he's bringing me along as he doesn't think I'll have many more chances to go on holidays seeing as college is supposed to be really busy.

Saturday, March 01, 2008

risk it all.

Went over to Melissa's house yesterday for some dinner thing. Aleena's band was playing so went to support them. After eating, walked around the area to the park and the lake which I never knew existed there. Nice weather for a walk. Luckily Melissa was always in front or we might have gotten lost. Here's an example of why we would get lost.

Puiyi: I'm leading so follow me. *She continues walking down the road.*
Aaron: No I'm leading! *Runs in front of Puiyi*
Melissa: If you two continue down the road it's a dead end.

Haha. Talk about blind leading the blind.

Later in the night when Paul had come, we as people who totally have no life at 12 midnight. Did stunts. They flew Puiyi, Aaron, Wuiyang, Paul and Carmen. I swear you should fly Wuiyang and look at his facial expression. Damn funny.

After everyone else went home with the exception of me, Puiyi and Carmen who were staying over, we stayed up till 3.30 talking, eating Maggi Mee and drinking. We totally slept too late seeing as it was almost impossible to wake Carmen and Puiyi up. Went to school for cheer where I obtained even more bruises from Carmen. I now have a total of 7 bruises on both my arms. With the worse on being on my wrist bone which I never knew was possible to bruise considering it's all bone.

Going to sleep now seeing as have church and cheer tomorrow. Just realised that I've been missing from church for almost a month.

don't taint this ground.

Went to Ipoh yesterday for my grandmother's birthday dinner then came back this morning.

She's 71 already!!!!

It was at 'Public Restaurant'. Weird name no? But everytime we have a 'dinner' in Ipoh it's always there. The food is nice....I mean it's Ipoh. And food is what it's famous for.
Main table!! Seeing as we're her relatives.
My favourite dish of all time!! Called 'Wo beng' I think. It's dessert. Got kaya inside.

Sunday, February 17, 2008

seemed like they'd never dry.

So Ujian Tara was yesterday. As usual Red house had the least amount of people. But this year our 'semangat' seemed to be better as everyone wore the red house shirt as instructed. Unlike the other years where there was always a handful who didn't listen.

Anyway, the results for the Ujian Tara are as follows.
Green-130
Red-129
Blue-124
Yellow-100

Yeah!! Red house usually loses in Ujian Tara as we never have many people. But this year, we are only 1 point away from Green. So chances of winning sports day is much higher than if we were in last place. Ujian Tara ended around 11 so went for cheer practice. And as school ends at 6.30 on Monday, the red house cheerleader have decided that we're going to stay back for practice. 12.30-6.30. 5 hours of cheer. Going to be coming back dead tired.

Last night went for an open house. Parents childhood friends. My parents have like this Ipoh gang where they've been friends since primary. It's like all of them decided to marry Ipoh people who they've known for a long long time. Maybe when I'm older that'll happen. Not the marrying old friends seeing as there is no one I'd like to marry but the fact that they've been able to keep in touch for so long. Every New Years, Chinese New Year & Christmas and sometimes just for fun everyone will meet up at a persons house and just catch up.

Now you'd be wondering why I'm blogging at 9 in the morning seeing as it's Sunday and I'm supposed to be in church. Well let me tell you the reason.

My mum's car won't start. My dad's car lock is cacat. And my dad needs to use the SLK. The reason my mum's car won't start is cause last night when we came back, my dad forgot to switch the car lights off so the car has no battery now.

And he always gives us lectures on responsibility.
