crystal.

I'm not a big fan of maths.

But I will admit that maths is involved in life a lot, although we never actually learn anything practical in class.

Here's an example of how life could use maths. To calculate a person's rebound time after breaking off from a relationship =P. From a musical called "I Love You Because", a modern version of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.

Haha. I really wanna watch a musical now.

Look Caroline! I'm posting a MATHS video!! =P

However, this does not mean I love maths in anyway.

Just found it interesting.

fame.

Hmm. This may not apply to all of you.

But don't you feel that you're been lied to about maths since young??

When you were in primary your teachers always told you that you must use the bigger number to subtract the smaller number.

For example: 6-10 is X but 10-6 is √

Then in secondary you find out that it is actually possible. You'd just end up with a negative number. And then your secondary teacher teaches you how to square root numbers. But you can only square root positive numbers.

For example: √9=3 but √-9 is maths error.

And now finally in A-levels. You find out that there is such a thing as √-1.

No wonder kids always feels like adults lie to them.

Haha. Just something I thought of today.

colour of the past.

Isaac Newton

Gottfried Leibniz

May you two forever be known as the two people who made life difficult for us students.

Why?

They are the two individuals who 'invented' calculus.

Namely, differentiation and integration.
